Picture of my untethered OHME e Pod just took it when I plugged in at 20:30 hrs.

Couldn’t resist gratuitous picture of MG 4 Trophy rear lights because I think they look ace.

For those with the iPace, looks like Jaguar are closing API access to their cars..

I just got this email

Not sure Octopus will help either. I'll have to research the stuff with cheapest overnight rate.

With this, and the faff with the car only charging to 72% I'm starting to fall out if love with JLR!
This is really disappointing, I switched to Octopus as the iPace is specifically on their list. It’s the final straw for me, as soon as my battery cell is replaced, I’m getting shot of it. I already have a Rolex charger on the wall, along with a Pod point charger which came with the Jag offer. I’m not buying yet another charger. I seem to have to change the charger more often than the car!

Thank you for that. That looks great, a neat looking unit as well. The Pod Point isn't a great looking thing!

The MG looks brilliant as well, I always enjoy seeing them about, I've never seen that on the rear lights as well, great effect!

That's my feeling as well to be honest, although I'm in a 34 month PCP deal with some time remaining.

It is indeed a very strange decision.

It's a shame they couldn't include a charger with the Approved used offer that would have been compatible with there tarrifs.

What happens to your gas tariff on Octopus Go? Can you have a fixed tariff with Octopus for gas?

I’ve just bought an EV, so I’m investigating Octopus, but as Octopus is a variable tariff and we always fix, I’m a little put off.

You can choose any of their gas tariffs alongside any of the EV tariffs.

Tracker has been best value for gas over the last couple of years (and electric if you don’t have the ability to load shift) - but that’s the anthesis of a fixed tariff as the price changes daily.

Thanks so I can pick the variable EV tariff alongside a fixed gas tariff?

Hopefully someone can give some advice.

I have a Zappi charger and two EVs (Q4 and eny1)

I switched recently from Octopus Go over to Intelligent Go.

Problem is sometimes I plug a car in and it will charge as expected overnight.

Other times I'll come back in the morning to find it has only charged a little or not at all.

How best should I have things set up so it just works?

Are you using the IO Zappi integration? If so, are you adjusting the charge percentage in the Octopus app each time you connect a car? Typically if something goes wrong you’ll get a push notification from the Octopus saying it was unable to control your device, have you seen anything like that?

I hadn’t previously, but after the previous troubles I reset everything yesterday and then got that message at the time it was meant to start

I've had that a few times if there has been an issue with the Zappi or car. For me, it's usually been the cable lock on my car or Zappi (mine is untethered) failing to engage. Having a charge schedule set on the car also disrupts it.

Not sure if anyone has seen, Octopus are chopping the price of octopus go by 0.5p overnight to 8.5p and about 3.4p off the daytime unit to 23.896p for those in the northwest, other regions may vary.

Not sure if Intelligent is getting a reduction, but would expect something similar..

Our rates have stepped down over the last couple of years since the peak - I think we average about 11p a unit now on IOG.

I've felt very well treated by octopus tbh. It's even possible to call them and speak to a useful human!!

That's still higher than Ovo Anytime which is currently 7p/kWh for EV and 22.64p/kWh household been at that price for a few months now. Either way, can't complain. I wonder if it'll drop a bit more with the cap reduction on 1st Jul?

Not too bad, although still too high and the ridiculous inflation on standing charges needs some sort of regulatory inquiry.

You need to shell out for a charger for that though. I'm on Octopus Go since the day I got mine on 29th March and not only is it going down to 8.5p from 1st July, it's for 5 hrs a night instead of 4 (00:30 to 05:30). And you get this for all electricity in those hours (washing machine on timer etc), I just use a 3 pin plug for mine. smile Also the new day rate from 1st July is still below the cap, at the moment it is 7% above their variable rate.

I've only had to use a public charger twice; but then my PCP is only for 6k miles per year. If you do big miles frequently, I can see the need for a 7kW charger but many won't need one.

I’m still on Octopus Agile and charging the cars when it’s 5p and under as much as possible. However for a few times it’s been 15p minimum but tomorrow there’s 4 hours where it’s an average of 2.5p.

Also of note is that the Octopus Go cheap rate lasts for another hour from 1st July, until 5:30 am.

Do these tariffs vary by region? I’m in Edinburgh and just on a standard EDF tariff so in the process of investigating options.
