His reputation was well deserved - my car came from him and he was truly superb.

A big loss to the McLaren second hand market I think.

(No, I don't know why he's closed)

Just see it on one of the FB groups.

Really shame, hope he is OK.

Not on Facebook. What's the reason?

Ditto, bought mine from Alastair and it was a great experience, I was always planning on selling via him to, but I guess i just have to keep hold of it forever now.

Unless I’ve missed something, no idea.

His advertised stock has been low for weeks but didn’t see this coming.

Not bought from him but picked his brains on occasion, really helpful advice etc. Perhaps just had enough of it as a trade ?

Damn, one of the good guys.

Dealers with an impeccable reputation can be counted with the fingers of one hand.

I had a horrible feeling that might be the case,Alastair is such a classy guy it seems so out of character to close in such a manner, with all socials deleted immediately as well.
Whatever the circumstances, everything crossed for him.

So sorry to hear it.

UK PLC has a lot to answer for with all the regulation and worry of running a business these days

Hope he is well and all the best to him and his customers

It appears Google also says Scott Hardy is permanently closed too and the website doesn’t work.

Stock does appear to be thin on the ground.

All the best to all concerned

I'm surprised by this one too. They didn't have the best reputation from what I've read but they seemed to be doing well.

Such a shame that A Bols has closed. He will be such a loss to the McLaren community but health comes first.

Scott Hardy - not surprised- SOR based business model and not the best cars in my experience.

Alastair Bols - very surprised. Night and day to most others and his diligent approach made him completely unique

I bought and sold a 675 roof scoop car from AB. He was refreshingly thorough, straightforward and a pleasure to deal with. As others have said, quite a rarity. Having gone thorough life-changing stuff myself over the past year, I wish you well Alastair.

Purchased my LT through Alastair and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with and also ensured the car was as good as it could be for me. He did a lot for the second hand sales of McLarens over the years and will be a real loss to the community.

Wish him all the very best for the future

I bought Andrew’s roof scoop and sold it through him too.
Had 3 cars off Alastair and was always the true professional, and a nice guy.
Only last month I bought the white 675 spider off him.
Best wishes to him and the family.

I live near to this guy, can’t believe I didn’t even know he was there.

Oh well, too late now.
