Require an air con pipe for 2019 570s - main dealer informs me "the part is not available for distribution and unfortunately there is no ETA."

I am wondering what my other options might be

get the pipe repaired ?
get a specialist company to make one up - impact on warranty ?
get a second hand one ?

Or wait for availability - not sure what typical lead times might be for such parts

I would make contact with V-Engineering who may have the part or a solution to fix.

I would just go to a hydraulic hose place and get one made up, aircon hoses aren't covered by warranty so nothing to worry about on that front.

Thanks for the feedback.

Had an update from Mc Main - "it is undergoing a supply chain review & agreement with the supplier".

Does anyone know anything about this type of process ?

I would have thought that McLaren could have had a couple made up ... ?? Whilst evaluating an alternative potential supplier ?

Perhaps not the same thing, but I needed the small plastic emergency key slot cover. Took six months. Volumes are too low to hold such items in stock, and it takes a while for the item to be prioritized for manufacture.

I assume this is a warranty repair? If the lead times are very long then I wonder if they would authorise you to put in a second hand one in the interim as there are plenty available from a quick search on ebay and the like? If its that or being without aircon through the summer this feels like a reasonable ask.

When I got quoted 3 months for a warranty wiper motor I bought one from a scrap dealer, had an independent fit it and continued to use the car.
3 months later the part arrived, the car went in to main dealer with the broken motor on the passenger seat; next day, yes the next day, I collected the car with the warranty motor fitted and my scrappy working motor on the passenger seat.
