How much headroom in the new v6 engine?

How much headroom is there in the new McLaren M630 engine? Given that Ferrari are getting bonkers power out of their v6 engine, Mclaren tend to get more power than Ferrari out of their engines, just how far can that unit go?

If you ask McLaren's marketing department, I expect they think it needs more power to win top trumps with Ferrari. Agreed that it doesn't need more as a road car. And Ferrari are exaggerating in some ways as you only get the full beans at high revs in the highest gears. In other words on track or autobahn and nowhere else.

What would probably help far more for McLaren's sales is a tuneful, not necessarily loud exhaust note which Ferrari has seemingly managed with their 296-series car.
