Any details on 570S Spider RX67 UCU
Discussion
Hi, as per the thread title, does anyone have any details on a McLaren Spider with the registration number RX67 UCU?
I am looking at possibly purchasing it, but am trying to do some due diligence on it first. It has recently been to McLaren for a health check and had a few minor things resolved such as a door switch and an offside front damper replacement. The latter was done due to a perished damper boot, so seems a bit over the top.
I know that the door hinges is a common problem - is this something that you would expect to be inspected as part of a main dealer inspection? Also, do they usually advise on corroded body panels? I have a copy of the inspection report but there doesn't appear to be anything that would cover inspecting these two key things.
Thanks in advance.

^^^ Thanks again for the information. The only problem is that the car is a long way from the nearest McLaren dealer / any recognised specialist so I would guess that the selling dealer will baulk at having it re-inspected. They had the car inspected prior to their own purchase and replaced a door switch and a front shock absorber assembly to rectify the faults that were found.
Just bear in mind if it's a non mclaren dealer you don't have any warranty that's actually useful after buying it.
You'd have to pay mclaren to re-inspect and correct anything to get it back under factory warranty anyway if you wanted peace of mind and aren't near V Engineering or Thorney.

I think you really want your own more detailed pre-purchase inspection, I wouldn't feel entirely comfortable with a two-pager you've been given by the garage from a few months ago. I would expect the dealer to be prepared to facilitate that (at your expense), it shows you're serious about buying it after all.
It does look like a decent buy if you like the colour - nice spec, sensible mileage, brake discs look ok from what's visible, Michelins, competitive price, FSH, PPF.
If it was me I'd go and see the car, you can have a look for corrosion and cracked hinges yourself. Then if you like it, ask to get it transported to V Engineering at your cost for PPI, and see where you get to.

Looks pricey for 24k miles and non mclaren dealer tbh.
Assuming it's the car I linked above, it's the second-cheapest of the 20 Spiders on AT, a full £500 above the cheapest, a blue car on higher mileage and lacking the exterior carbon.Just looking at the listings, it seems absolutely competitively priced to me.
Wow huge spec for a 570s...…very very rare to find one with ALL the carbon options selected and also the MSO SupeerSports Titanium exhaust. The original owner went to town thats for sure.
Assuming the service history stacks up and you get a full inspection done, it would be a great buy.

Not a Mclaren guy but saw this when I was at Autostore recently.. much better history and warranty and Jonathan is a gent to deal with, amazing cars up there.

Also very expensive for a 2017 car. The mclaren warranty till June 2025 hints this is a SOR sale as dealers cannot pass on the mclaren warranty. https://www.autostoresales.co.uk/mclaren-570s-cabr...

Both cars state a full McLaren service history, so I'm not sure how the orange one is 'much better' in that regard.https://www.autostoresales.co.uk/mclaren-570s-cabr...
The orange car is half the mileage and £4k higher asking price, not totally unreasonable. Personally the fact it's done fewer than a thousand miles in the past three and a half years would concern me slightly, I'd rather have a higher mileage car that's been sat less, but the market does put a slight premium on low mileage.
Both cars seem fairly reasonable at first glance, depends if you want to pay a bit more for lower mileage, plus colour preference, I think.

Correct, 90% of the cars are SOR. Like I said not a Mclaren guy so not up to date on prices but prefer this one over the red one if I was buying around 90k, half the mileage and Mclaren Warrsnty until June 2025. JJ77 said:

Tbh you won't gain anything buying it on SOR from them really in terms of protection, I'd rather buy it from the owner direct, cut out the middle man and their profit. Bought mine /sold mine privately no hassle at all with warranty transfer.
I agree on the v10. I’ve had two R8’s and they have to be one of the best sounding cars. The 570 has a Larinni and does sound good, but it’s not a v10.
In my opinion the 570 handles a lot better and feels a lot more special than the R8. I’ve never had so many positive comments on a car from people while out and about.

Yes thats the one. I am currently abroad but may see if I can view it when I return home. Logistically it is a bit of a nightmare to sort things out because of where it is located. The reg brings up a pic at another dealer in Wales from Sept

Yea the 570 is a special car amd the spider is like 2 cars in one with the roof down being so good.In my opinion the 570 handles a lot better and feels a lot more special than the R8. I’ve never had so many positive comments on a car from people while out and about.
