Nice. BTW, even my old 650 is affected by the traction control that they described towards the end. Reducing the intervention by going to track rather than sport, makes the car feel a lot stronger (assuming you are alert and capable).

The leaking seal allowing water into the footwells is poor, but really a consequence of the lack of testing small manufacturers can do. On a mass market vehicle this should have been discovered well before production. I'd hope McLaren have already revised it for newer models given the "daily" use these cars are being aimed at, rather than cost analyse it so see if it is cheaper repairing complaints than preventing them.

The article does demonstrate the perception of the general public about reliability issues. being a fair way from the truth, something that's got worse since the internet.

I don’t think the Artura’s slow start and depreciation issues are down to concerns over histrionic Mc woes (real or forum driven exaggeration). It’s a wider mistrust and lack of want from would be buyers of the hybrid powertrains in this market sector. People just don’t really want them- even at highly discounted prices.

Yes, however in the scheme of things, its a minor. Not a patch on the issues facing other cars.

I think its quite telling that Harrys Garage was very positive about the Artura, even preferring it to the 296, yet he bought a 650s.

I think it was the fact he wanted a spider and the 650s is a chunk cheaper than an Artura(40+ %).

It didnt seem like he was set in stone and was looking at coupes first, granted its a chunk more money but dont think Harry has to worry on that front.

I wonder if deprecation was a consideration ie less likely to lose a packet on a 650s vs an Artura?

It did seem that was part of the thinking smile

He ended up getting the most expensive 650 on sale so perhaps depreciation was less of a factor in this purchase

I really like the Artura they seem to be a good buy as a used car for what you get, like this 2000 mile 23 plate example for £138k.

Or this MSO spec for 147k

I think that there are enough examples by now that this is exactly the case.
