Pure McLaren Silverstone Club Track Parade/Social Gathering
Discussion
I’ve booked on.
They are overpriced at £1,195, although a £100 off through MOC.
Well run with McLaren techs on hand and track time is excellent and often very empty as many folks do few laps and just savour the ambience and cappuccino.
For the first time on track in a Mac, it is a good experience.
Can’t really comment on the parade etc as although I’ve done 2 previously i wasn’t really involved in the other stuff

I've done it twice; 2021 and 2022.
Sit down lunch, pit access, plenty of refreshments, and a couple or more laps of the track; some slow, some less so.
Didn't go last year, unsure about this year.
Only you can decide if it's good value, or you are subsidising the pure event for others..

£250 includes coffee and a biscuit so not bad
Realistically this is a one make car show with catering then for £250? Do you get passenger rides in anything around Silverstone as part of the deal?MMarkM said:
I'll go and do the track day also, I would imagine the track will be a safer environment with fellow owners rather than people going a bit mad wanting to "bag a McLaren" in a dodgy overtake or late brake
For me that’s the main benefit, fellow owners are respectful and won’t aggressively follow you around on track at high speed to get their perfect tictok instagram race videos. r o n n i e said:

Still a very expensive trackday though compared to some of the high end trackdays where you won't have that issue generally. Did the issue of pre and post trackday mclaren inspections get resolved out of interest? Never had any issues on a "normal" Silverstone GP day in regards to people trying dodgy overtakes. If you're in a sports/super series McLaren there's an extremely high chance you'll be nowhere near the most "attractive" car to overtake for bragging rights
Regarding track inspections, I'm fairly certain you are still required to have the pre & post track inspections which is why I opted for a "normal" Silverstone day for £629.

I dont believe its possible, the only way they will know is from evidence of track driving, i.e scrubbed up tyres, rubber debris on the underside and possible number plates if someone happens to post photos or videos on social media. A tracker might have the data but its not available to Mclaren.
I would also like to see it stand up in court if they refused a warranty claim without definitive evidence (photos/videos) but i dont believe they can get data from the ecu.
The inspections should be way more cost effective imho, 30 mins to check over fluid levels and brake/tyre condition is all thats really needed, even though brakes are not covered under warranty, perhaps thats something more people would be interested in for our own peace of mind.

For this particular event, it's a McLaren Pure day - i.e. organised by McLaren - so it wouldn't be that difficult for them to note the cars on the track - and correlate that against inspections if a subsequent large warranty claim took place.
