Finally collected my 650s.

Had to wait due to it having new rear lights and a few bits done.

did circa 250 miles yesterday(into london then down to the southwest). Its quick, thats after stepping out of a vanquish also.

Bit tight with the doors under the ramp, i'm trying to work out if its got external window closure!? I need to work out the best way of getting in and out also biggrin gets around the drive without using lift, however once the driveway's done, it should be even easier.

Looks stunning.

I answered your FB post (saying they don't have total closure) - however, if you lock the car with the touch sensor just in front of the air scoop - if you hold your hand there, it should close any open windows.

As above, hold your four fingers on the touch sensor (just behind the door opening button, by the air intake) and it’ll fold the mirrors anc close the windows.

Leave it on a trickle charger, always, and if you ever don’t then leave the bonnet open.

Also, oil the external door release key slot (under the rear passenger door behind a clip-in panel) and locate the remote boot release and use it to make sure it works.

A new CTEK charger (lithium one) is better than the original McLaren one.

Many people prefer Michelin tyres over the stock Pirelli’s, which require a lot of heat to work well and are therefore awful in the winter or the damp.

I'll try that four finger arrangement! I've already ordered a new charger(lithium XS). its got new tyres on it, so i'll have to try and get a bit of value out of them before swapping. Thanks for the tips.

thank you. It was just confusing as the manual seems to say two different things!

The car has a tyre temperature display, and it’s worth making use of, to ensure they are warm enough before leaning on them too hard.

Yes, its a shame you can't set the right side display to show tyre temps+fluids etc.

ETA, got the window closure to work properly when external of the car. thanks all.

Various Aston, but kept my VanqS. Can't beleive I didn't look at Mclaren before. Got my 720s in January and blown away by it.

Congrats OP. Looks like a lovely example. Enjoy!
I’m envious of your garage lift.

Thanks by the way, you saved me £20 on the McLaren book.

I did think about it, however it'd mean having to have some finance and not having time to use them both. Great paring!

Hoping my 240z(on the ramp) with give me a 'coupe' type car to balance out.

Cracking looking 650, and welcome to mac ownership.

You shall never take a picture that shows how amazing the Volcano colours are in the flesh....it still looks amazing though.

Enjoy, and be ready for people appearing whenever you park somewhere for a chat or pics!

Welcome to the 650 club. Let’s see how much usage the 240z gets now.

I kept my V12 Vantage because is a natural aspirated manual, but it rarely gets used. The theory was I would use the 650 with the top down, and the V12V when it was wet. But the 650 does so much better in wet…..

erm, the 240z is being rebuilt from a bare shell, so likely none! I did try a v12v before the vanquish. the 650 feels more 'supercar' than anything I've tried.

Only done circa 500 miles now, so still getting to know it.

The engine is noisy on startup when cold, which looking around seem normal!?

I have the original McLaren charger that came with my 650, what is better with the CTEK version?
