Guys, it is renewal time on my 650, it was previously on my motor trade policy, pretty sure I can get it cheaper as a private car, all my NCD are with my motor trade policy so it is a matter of starting fresh
thanks
Andy

Talk to your preferred insurer/broker - many will accept unusual NCD situations in terms of giving you a similar discount to actually having the no claims. Sometimes the result of that is that come renewal you'll have a proof of no claims showing the full tally from before.

Pace Ward / AIB / Nowell & Richards.

Or just Admiral.

Talking to a real person is probably easier than trying to do online.
Whilst I normally suggest brokers because they do all the work it won’t necessarily be the cheapest solution.
I use Nowell and Richards for my cars and A Plan and Locktons also worth a shout.
NFU used to be quite flexible but seem to have got more painful of late.

I just went with Footman James. Came in at just under 1% of agreed value. Previously I had always been with Admiral but they quoted a 40% increase despite no claims.

That’s a “ good “ rate - who is the Insurance company ?
Also with agreed value presumably / hopefully a better policy all round than Admiral anyway.

I'm not sure if they made a special dispensation for me. I have two which are close to 40 years but the others are all new.
