Hi guys,

I'm interested in this 720 and wondered what your thoughts are:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202208259...

It's been on the market since August on AT, originally at just under £159k, now as you can see, just under £146k.

Mileage not bad (<10k), nice colour (imo), sports exhaust, B+W audio, some carbon, lift and a few other bits.

There's a bit of paint bubbling in a couple of areas which might put some people off but as long as it's sorted it wouldn't be a big problem for me as a few seem to suffer from it.

The interior might be a little bland for some but I'm ok with it.

Anything jump out that I might be missing? Wondering why it's been on the market for quite some time.

cheers,

Matt

Hopefully you’ll get some answers from folks who own or know about McLarens as PH is famous for getting opinions from those that do not unfortunately

In any event it’s imo a great value car, I’ve seen it in the flesh and could be any number of reasons why it’s been reduced but pretty all Supercars that are not restricted supply have dropped in January

Looks a v nice car the paint bubbling would need sorting before the 5 yr warranty expires which would be this yr given its a 2018 model although I’d expect Hatfield to do this before collection if you were to buy. I’d say stick in a low £140s bid as they might be keen to move it on no obvious reason why it hasn’t sold apart from priced too high for current mkt.
also I used to get price change alerts on AT but that hasn’t been working for a while now, it the same for anyone else and any way to fix?

I didn't know AT price-change alerts were a thing! I've been doing it manually for about a year smile

I'd say it's a little expensive. I paid less than that for mine a year ago. Admittedly mine had 14k miles at time but is a similar spec (if Luxury). Check it's had accumulators and the recalls, check and double check the gorilla glass (unless it's had both panels replaced with the new spec) - mine had a crack and I had to fight to get McLaren to pay for it - get James to put it on PS4S (he's a believer unlike, say, Ascot) and put in a bid.

ps - if you go for a test drive and haven't driven a 720 before, be careful. Old (if these are old) PZeros and cold damp roads do not make a good recipe for traction.

I took mine out for the first time this year yesterday and was reminded why it's so special. They have their quirks, but there's nothing like a 720. Get a good one, drive it regularly and properly, keep the battery conditioned when it's parked up and you'll be all smiles.

I can't help either, but another thumbs up for that colour. It made me do a quick sum to see how easily I could make it mine. I'd have to factor in the cost of divorce too though.

It's a nice spec. Carbon works well on that colour.
Not sure why they've put a plate on the front which is registered to an Artura!

Private plate change. That will be an old photo and the plate is now on the Artura.

Pretty nice options, but 90's silver, that does no favours on a 720s, in my opinion of course.

Guess its costing him in finance payments monthly, so loosing money all the time.

On the flip side I think that silver is a fabulous colour on a 720.

I really like the colour of the 720 in the original post, I’m hoping to find a 650 in a similar colour in the Spring.

Its Blade silver which was a common colour on the 570S and actually looks darker (and better ) in real life than in the photos for that ad.
