Hello
Looking at getting into a McLaren 570s Spider, the car I'm looking at is at McLaren Ascot. Coming from Porsche. Does anybody know the history of the car and potential pitfalls?
Cheers

MOT expired 04-11-22. Only done 2.5k miles at previous MOT.

Looks absolutely lovely in that colour smile

Can't see any obvious issues from the ad.
The 5yr paint corrosion cover will last til next August, so if you get it, you'd likely have them inspect & rectify just before that point (normal issue on any sports series).

Was posted for sale on 25th Nov, so nearing two months ago. Not a long time for such a car, but has been up for a bit.
I think the average asking price for a Spider of that age & mileage would be £114k, so there might be a bit of wiggle-room on price, and/or maybe a second year McWarranty if that's something you'd want.

To give an idea of the market, the below 570 Spiders have disappeared from AT in the past week (so presumably sold)
2018, 13k miles, Orange - £117k *
2019, 15k miles - £117k
2018, 18k miles, Yellow - £110k
2018, 17k miles, Grey - £113k
2018, 15k miles, Grey - £109k *

(* denotes a non-McLaren franchised dealer)

I assume you've seen it, but there's another Vega Blue Spider at Thorney for £115k at slightly higher mileage, in case that's of interest if the Ascot car doesn't work out.

Hi, thanks for the information very very informative. I'm based in Cumbria and aiming to see the car on Wednesday and hope it lives up to my expectations. Having not driven a McLaren as yet I'm a very excited 58 year old! Can't wait.. Also while we're down south I might see if I can get to Thorney's on the way home and check out the other car, really fancied the B&W but that car has a great spec otherwise.
Once again thanks for the replies.

Had an '18 spider that was absolutely brilliant...two years and 10k miles of pure pleasure. Have since moved on to the 720, but still miss the 570. BTW, I spent decades in Porsches, but after the McLaren experience, I'd never go back.
