My extended warranty that I obtain and had transferred to my name etc when I purchased my car has just run out and I wish to renew it. I`ve contacted McLaren and they`ve come back with some strange questions about proof of purchase and a claim was made on my behalf by the main service agent but Mclaren warranty are asking for documentation of this... strange I thought?
Has anyone had any difficulty renewing theIR warranty or do McLaren actively try to get out of it? The car is a 2016 675LT.

Never been asked anything when rolling the warranty over on my 570s, they just billed me for it and that was it however I let them know ahead of time before the warranty expiry date. In your case it sounds like the warranty has already lapsed and you're looking to start it again? They would want to inspect the car etc before issuing a new one I believe.

And pay for anything that is broken before the new warranty is issued

Rule number one: Don't let the warranty expire if you want to renew it.

The extended warranty transfer must be completed within 7 days of the sale or something horrible happens. And the previous owner must inform the warranty provider (forget who it is) of the transfer and you, the new owner, must complete a transfer form that the previous owner signs off. Seems you probably haven’t done that. Asking you for some evidence of ownership seems reasonable

Seems dealing with McLaren direct is not so straightforward but it was sorted within 30 seconds by the McLaren service centre I use! It was still within the 7 day time frame fortunately.
