Anyone know this McLaren?
Discussion
Morning PH collective.
For a couple of years now I've harboured a desire to own a McLaren (well actually for about a decade but I'm coming up to the point where I can afford one!)
amongst others, I have a 2019 owned from new Mustang GT in look at me orange (orange fury is the paint name!). I absolutely love it and has only ever gotten positive attention. This would be the car I'd end up changing to a McLaren.
Ideally I'd like a 570GT as I do lots of sports like paddleboarding and I reckon I could just about get an inflatable board in there! However I'm starting to look more at the 12c's which I'd discounted when the 570/720 etc came out with their design change but am now looking more fondly back at them!
This brings me to my title question. For months I've seen this: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202209059... car for sale at a very attractive price which naturally raises alarm bells!
Does anyone know anything about this car and/or has viewed it?
Thanks in advance

I do not know a huge amount about McLaren's, more of a fan without the means to afford one, but very much would if I could after an experience day in a 12C a few years ago.
A combination of the state of the wheels, the state of the interior, how/where the car is parked, general appearance of the street (I know it is London, and that is probably still an expensive house) but all of it just screams to me a car that has not been looked after.
Run. and fast.
ETA: A good rule I was once told about buying cars, if there is any doubt, there is no doubt. It has served me well over the years.

I'm usually fairly good on spotting lemons. Of 57 cars I've only had two, both were Audi's. FIrst was me getting all giddy at going from a 2.0 cavalier to a 4.2 S6 that I ignored the signs. Second going from an RS6 to an A8 V8 petrol that was so cheap i couldn't ignore it (even after new coil packs, fuel pumps & parking ECU I still made a few quid when selling!).A combination of the state of the wheels, the state of the interior, how/where the car is parked, general appearance of the street (I know it is London, and that is probably still an expensive house) but all of it just screams to me a car that has not been looked after.

Once I decide once and for all whether going from a useful all round GT to a McLaren is 100% the right thing to do I might take a little drive to see it, it's only 70 miles away, unless someone pops up on here and tells me the horror story behind it!
Don't know that car but what I can tell you is we had a 12C for 2.5 years and 13k miles and it could hold tons of luggage, the back shelf was especially useful. When we had a service we were given a 570GT for the weekend. We were on our way to a wedding, loaded the 12C up and drove to the McLaren dealer to swop cars over. Our bags and cases we took from the 12C would not all fit in the 570GT! Another time I went to pick up my niece from the airport in the 12C, fully expecting her to have a student rucksack, she had the biggest suitcase I have ever seen! hard-shell on wheels. I was going to call her a taxi but thought no harm trying. I moved the passenger seat forward and somehow wedged it in between the back of the seat and sideways on the rear shelf. I was astonished! So don't worry about choosing a 12C over a 570GT, they actually have more useable luggage space!

Wow, that's good to know, especially about the suitcase as I've a 12ft 6" touring paddleboard which engulfs the boot of my i3 but barely scratches the surface of my mustang! It's about as tall as a big suitcase but all other dimensions of a cabin bag I reckon. Not that I'll be using a mclaren to go paddleboarding all the time but it's nice to knot it could fit it!MOT history :

I'm almost certain the current custodian of this car posted on PH a few months ago (however the PH mods deleted the post).
This was his fathers cars who has now sadly passed and I think it's a reluctant sale. Would be worth a call and viewing surely?
Thank you, sad to hear. Our house move that had all but evaporated has now suddenly gone into overdrive again (all since the energy price freeze!) so depending on whether we move or not I'll give them a call. The irony being, if we move I'll have a 6 car garage to put it in but then no money to buy one! If we don't move I'll have the money for one but nowhere to garage it. House firstWe've got a nice house (with limited parking!) but want the next step up, unfortunately where we live the next step up is £250k more than our place so quite the undertaking and lifestyle change!
