For 1k miles pa, I’d say yes and stick the warranty money into an account of some sort.

570 Spider run for 2 years thus far with no warranty.

I do approx 3,000 miles per year & so far so good, I'm well ahead on actual costs incurred vrs paying for warranty.

I average about 6-7k miles a year in my 650. No warranty for the last year - one minor issue which would have been covered by warranty but only cost me about £160 to get fixed at V Engineering anyway.

2nd year in with no warranty, first year i did circa 3k miles inc 3 track days, not sure where i am with mileage this year but i would guess its going to be similar by the end of the ownership year for me (march 2023), maybe up to 4k miles and 2/3 track days.

Only issue so far was a split ac hose which im not 100% would have been covered anyway, cost £500. So effectively im £5500 or so in credit and with a service just carried out at a main dealer with no remedial works required, barring anything catastrophic or out the blue (which i know can happen) i am happy where i am with no warranty.

I think the only time i will get one is if i want to sell moving forward.

12C, high mileage at >56k now. I have no warranty. Only done 2k miles myself but so far so good. Previous owner did 3-4 years with no warranty. He said he had not spent as much as a warranty would have cost. I think well used McLarens are going to be more reliable than the very low mileage ones. Hope I’m right.

I have a Readers car thread on my 570GT which I'm running without warranty. I put up an update in July where I was very open about costs...

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I've put 6,400 miles on the car in 12 months, although that will now revert back to a more usual 2-3000 per annum as I don't plan on taking it to Portugal again - but you never know.

We have never opted for the extended warranty. Our 650S Spider is now 7 years old and the 675LT Spider 6 years old. Not had major issues with either and the 650S was my daily driver for multiple years.

Just posted an update on the running costs across all the McLarens we have owned.
