Just had my wheels refurbished on my 650s and requested a new set of 235 35 19 P Zeros MCs for the front as my old ones were aged. I was going to fit Michelin but there is zero space between the liners and the rear tyres and Mich have much squarer shoulders and I don't want to fit spacers.

I didn't check the P Zeros tyres until a got home. They are older tread pattern and have a DOT code indicating they were made in week 8 2019. Therefore the wheel refurber fitted 3.5 year old tyres! Anyone fitted the later PZ4s P Zeros to a 650s and do they come in a MC fitment?

Running PS4S standard commercial fitment front and rear on my 650. Have spacers in the front for better front end grip on track, but not on the rear. No issues with rubbing.

Supplier confirmed that the production runs are not regular and that the age of the tyre is less important if it has been in storage and not subject to loads or temperature changes. They confirmed that the maximum recommended shelf life is 5 years before fitment and the tyre is then guaranteed for a further 5 years of road use thereafter.

I wish I had gone with Michelin now...

In good faith you’ve fitted ‘brand new tyres’ in 2022. If I came along to buy your car in 3 years time, I’d be worried about the rubber noting a date code of 6 years ago. Despite tread depth etc at the time. I’d knock your price for a new set of tyres. That’s my take. I wouldn’t have let them fit anything other than 21 dated tyres
