Why is the 650s so cheap?
Discussion
650s prices seem to be stuck at around £90-105k
It's replacement, as in the subsequent super series car - 720s - is around £170-220k
That is a huge gap in values, with only sports series cars (mainly 570s) available to plug it.
Seems odd - any thoughts as to why this is? Do most people prefer the Sports series cars to the 12C/650s cars?

Yes. I've been looking at this myself. Currently own a 12c spider which I love but seriously considering switching to a 650s spider for not a great deal more. Was considering a 720S but think they have to come down a bit from hereIt's replacement, as in the subsequent super series car - 720s - is around £170-220k

Some thoughts
1) 650S up to £110k, 720S from £145k, so 'only' £35k gap (albeit Spider vs Coupe)
2015 650S £110k https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202205155...
2017 720S £145k https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202112030...
And that's between a five year old and a seven year old car.
2) Sports Series are newer, perceived lower maintenance costs (£3k vs £5k warranty?), and got better ratings from journalists on release.

"Best 650S in country" OMG Stevie Wonder is selling his car, thats a hideous turquoise monstrosity.1) 650S up to £110k, 720S from £145k, so 'only' £35k gap (albeit Spider vs Coupe)

Presume its a wrap but the lack of taste would seriously worry me

looking at Spiders only, the gap seems even more crazy - £100k ish for a 650s (perhaps a bit less) vs £200k for 720s.720s prices were in free fall but seemed to have recovered well. 650s not going up at all - I would have expected the increased 720 prices to pull up the 650s too.
I guess it's the black sheep McLaren!!
The 650 spider is an absolute monster of a car; fantastic ride going quick or slow, the perfect simplistic binnacle, warp drive speed, and all the rigidity of a coupe in a spider.
If you get one with decent miles it shouldn't have any issues.
For whatever reason, its the supercar bargain currently and I would have another in a heartbeat.

650S Spider at 100k is a huge amount of car for the money, 570s Spiders have bounced in comparison with many cars at £120k or over now. Running costs are punchier for the 650s tho but Thorney always an option if you don't live too far from them. You very rarely see a 12c or 650s for sale through official Mclaren dealers do they not care for retailing their older models?

Newer model with Monocell 2
Less on warranty
Its a weekend/fun car so not overly bothered about the benefits of the proactive suspension
And subjectively, prefer the looks and interior of the sport series
All in all it just seemed the better bet for me.

What happened to Rambolambo ?
He has not been around since 2018...I hope he has not crashed in his 675LT...On a serious note easy enough to fix
