I'm currently thinking of buying a 600 LT Spider.
Like all cars prices seem to have firmed up over the past couple of years but are these actually selling ? Many seem to have been for sale for a while.
I'd be very interested to hear owners reliability experiences and also what those in the know think of the current prices.
Seen a lovely 18000 mile car advertised at £160k, the mileage indicates that it should have been reliable but is it simply too many miles for the money.
All advice appreciated.

Yes, I've been looking at these with some interest and the 720S. I'm of the view prices more broadly are going to soften as the year progresses and delaying any potential new purchases until q4 on that basis. Time will tell!Like all cars prices seem to have firmed up over the past couple of years but are these actually selling ? Many seem to have been for sale for a while.

I have been browsing the classifieds ever since i bought my 570s since April of last year, i would say prices are prices are definitley softening (across the board/range) after the jump post lockdown and like you say some nice spec cars are not shifting. If you look on autotrader and you hover your mouse over the link in the search bar it will tell you when the advert was first listed, so might give you some more bargaining power if its been on the forecourt a while.
I tyre kicked a purple one that was for sale up in Scotland June/july ish last year. High spec...all external carbon, senna seats, MSO paint. It was up for 145k.
Decided to hang onto my 570s Spider a bit longer so never ended up pursuing it.
That same car now would be 15k + more looking at current advertised prices.

The prices have certainly shifted up, but I’m not convinced they are selling at these prices, Clinkard sold a Segestria Borealis recently anyone know that it was up for ?Decided to hang onto my 570s Spider a bit longer so never ended up pursuing it.

There are only 174 right hand drive 600LTS made, some have already been written off, which makes them a very rare car indeed.
Like to know where you get that figure from but even if it was remotely correct it still wouldn't make it that rare a car unless you are comparing it to porsche GT car production.675LT is a proper rare car with less than 1/3 of the number of 600LT's built hence the £100k price delta

From Ian Digman Global Head of Product Management and Strategy for McLaren Automotive, when I talked to him at a McLaren pure day at Thruxton a couple of years ago.675LT is a proper rare car with less than 1/3 of the number of 600LT's built hence the 100k price delta
A very rare car as said earlier.

Great cars but way too many of them built sadly.
3,500 worldwide takes away the rarity factor hence why they had to do stupid PCP deals in the end to give them away
Rambolambo, it’s great that your dad had a 675LT. 3,500 worldwide takes away the rarity factor hence why they had to do stupid PCP deals in the end to give them away
I’ve said before and will say again, I think the 675 is an amazing car.
Question… is your constant need (pretty much every thread) to put down other cars because of insecurity (i.e. you’re not really sure the 675 is that great) or is it a narcissistic need (i.e. need to boast / brag to feel superior / good about yourself)?

I agree, advertised prices and sale prices are completly different, there are a couple of, imo, very nice spec LT's on autotrader that have been "for sale" since September/October last year, with very gradual price reductions. If someone is making payments of a £1000 a month plus on the pcp deal and the advertised price is coming down, it doesnt take long till that is a very unattractive weight around the neck.
I personally see the LT settling somewhere between the 570s and 720s, regardless of the lower production numbers.

Now maths may not be my strong subject but I make that 347 RHD 600 LTs, which is roughly 10% of the worldwide production as I would expect for the UK primarily and about 3 x more common than the 675LT again as I would expect as sports series production is considerably higher than super series cars.If those are the facts the only thing that is subjective is an individuals view on what is classed as a super rare car.
3,500 unit worldwide for say Ferrari with 5 times the demand is still probably rare but 3,500 for the McLaren brand at this stage of its development is not that rare and hence why they could not sell them all without a major push on the crazzzzy PCP deals which was basically hiring the car for £20k over 2 years and amazing value. If mclaren had limited the 600LT to 500/500 it would of sold them all without the heavy discounts but they got carried away with the success of the 675LT and thought they could up the production numbers.
Ferrari are the masters of building 1 less car than the demand and Mclaren need to learn a lot about marketing, residuals and customer retention
In comparison McLaren got it spot on with the 675LT and hence they were all sold out in 2 weeks and were then fetching £100k premiums. Those are the facts not an opinion
600LT is a great car none the less and those that hired them for 2 years would have had a ball unlike the early adoptors who paid full list price and have taken a tanking probably never to return to the brand which cant be right
