I am considering a used 570s and would prefer to buy from a main dealer due to warranty.
Anyone have any idea are the prices pretty close to 'fixed' these days or is there much room for negotiation (looking at somewhere between £100-115k purchase).
Don't want to get off on the wrong foot with low ball offer.
thanks

Just buy a car still under warranty privately, get an inspection (for peace of mind) and the seller can transfer the remaining balance of the warranty over to you and you can then renew each year.

There was certainly room for negotiation when I bought my 720 earlier this year. Always helpful to have multiple ways for them to save face. I wasn't using finance, so didn't have that lever, but did have a trade-in. You can also push them to pay for the next service, or for new tyres, or other things you'd otherwise have to buy, bearing in mind that this costs them less than dropping the price of the car.

Varies by car.
They are all unique and so many variables you could get £10k off one and nought off another similar car at a different dealer.
Depends on its SIV and length in stock etc .....

When car hunting I generally make offers on several cars at numerous dealerships, some won't budge, some will happily negotiate.

I've never paid full asking price for a car, but you have to be prepared to walk away.

My recent 570s purchase (non McLaren dealer in Feb) was due a service in May, so I got them to throw in an early McLaren service and mot including oil, brake fluid, coolant, air/cabin filters, and spark plugs. Plus software updates, fix a cam seal oil leak and supply 2 new key fobs as one wasn't working. They were very fair about it.

Recently sold my 570 back to the dealer who had it advertised on their website by the time I was home.

The gap between what they paid me and what they were asking was in the region of £18,000.

I would say therefore there’s plenty of room for negotiation.

Loved my 570 but become disillusioned with repeated corrosion.

GROSS margins have definitely increased with dealers selling fewer cars and less stock available.
They have to make more money from fewer sales to pay the bills.

Ferrari have played this game and controlled used car prices for years very successfully.
Get a px price from any ferrari dealer and see the difference on that,

Its definitely a sellers market at mo

I was guessing maybe £12-£15 markup as they have to cover the warranty costs and prep work also.

Regarding paint/corrosion - did this stop after a certain year ?
Eg - it has not occurred on cars after 2019 say ?
Or is it still likely on any year?

I have read a lot about this as a serial Lotus owner I know that if something breaks on ONE car then it instantly becomes known as a common problem.

If the corrosion stopped after a certain year then I would try to buy something from that year onwards.

Other than the corrosion (covered under warranty) no preparation required on my car - it had just come back from Topaz after the last lot of paint corrosion. New tyres.

The dealership that bought my car had a brand new 720 in the showroom that had already had a panel repainted. 2022 car!

If brand new cars are STILL suffering, the problem is widespread. Would systemic be an appropriate word?
