Is it just me or does the Senna seem like good value compared to other hypercars out there right now??

don't know if I would call it good value, but I do like the black one for sale [which is incidentally also the cheapest one I believe] - the color hides a lot of the challenging details.
I would not mind one as track day car, do like the single purpose approach and therefore can forgive the looks. Unfortunately I cannot afford one / it would not be the first car I buy in the +/- price bracket

Yes, there's a nice black one at Joe Macari I went and saw this morning. Works well with the orange detail.

They also have the most incredible Jaguar XJ220

Is the Senna worth approx twice as much as a 765LT ? Or perhaps the better question is, is it worth twice as much to you?

The Senna with the same driver around Hockenheim is over 5 seconds a lap quicker than a 765LT, so if you main aim is fast lap times then probably.

At £650k, I'd say that there probably isn't really much competition in this price bracket around a track. It really is the ultimate road legal track car.

Always find it interesting that the fairly marginal performance gains come at such a huge price, £50-60k per second in this example and thats if you're a pro driver who can exploit the ability of the Senna over the LT ...765LT much more cohesive looking car in my eyes but the Senna certainly puts function over form.

To my mind the potential "problem" with Senna values is the car wasn't created until some 15 years after his untimely death, and he'd left McLaren a fair while before that. It doesn't do much to build bragging rights in the top trumps competition.

Over 5 seconds on a 1.40 minute lap isn’t exactly marginal, it’s huge. Obviously I wouldn’t be able to extract that sort of Laptime, but for someone that can, and can afford it I can’t see a better road legal track car for the money. I still think they are very ugly, but they weren’t build to be a looker.

The problem is that on road the performance is completely irrelevant and they lack glamour of say a P1 or 918. On track there are any number of proper race cars that would destroy a Senna for far less cost.

The road legal argument seems specious, if you can afford one of these you surely would have it delivered to track fir you and drive there in your Range Rover or McLaren 720?

A 720 GT3 (or GT3X) looks far better to me and would probably be more capable.

Or a Ginetta G58 and some brown trousers…

All true, but ultimately the Senna is for the punter who can afford one to mostly drive on the road and feel superior to any other road car. And for talking about (more than using) its track capabilities.

Interesting views. Seems to me that most for sale have delivery Miles so have been bought as an investment. How do people view value retention of Senna vs 765 LT?

I prefer the looks of the LT and could enjoy it as intended but as discussed, they are different propositions it would seem

I’ve spoken to a few Senna owners and all of them track the car and obviously own a few other specials. The whole point of the Senna is that it’s a car they can drive on the road but also be pretty much the fastest thing on track as well. For the price of them, I can’t think of anything else that does it as well.

As said before I think they are very ugly and it’s not something I would buy, I’d rather have a 765LT and something else for the same price.
Apart from the performance, I kind of understood they were even more of an event to drive due to the see through doors. The looks don't particularly upset me, it's exaggerated McLaren styling and less samey than most supercars and hypercars.

Nail and head in my opinion, i would imagine the vast majority of Senna customers were looking at a profit.

The others, if you can drop that kind of money on a car, i doubt they are concerned with its merits/pefromance against "x" as they probably have "x" in the garage anyway, its not really a one car choice!

The Senna is an oil painting compared to a 765LT IMO. The front end of the LT is seriously challenging...

Yes, and I own both.
