MCL Front number plate
Discussion
Hi - I have read around and it seems that around London the police are more likely to stop and fine you if you have no front number plate. I am therefore in need of a front number plate for my new (2nd hand) 570GT. I like the small shaped ones (the bent ones) or vinyl ones. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good supplier or is it a matter of just heating up a regular plate and making a bend in it (is that easy?)
Thanks in advance.

I’ve got a regular sized plate on mine so cannot comment on the smaller size. However, I would say think about getting metal (aluminium?) plates as they can be bent without heating. I’d also say when bending it into shape, when you think you’ve achieved the correct shape then bend it just a little bit further. This should take any tension out of the ends and stop it peeling away at a latter date.
And congrats on the new car, looks lovely.

That firm does bent plates, they did one for my 600LT, not the cheapest though.

It may not appeal, but I saw this company on a YT video this week, they make a plate carrier that clips underneath the splitter: https://www.italiansupercarsolutions.co.uk/
As per Petjam's post, Fourdot do plates tailored specifically to the Mac.
However, as my plate is only 5 digits I didn't like the look of the Fourdot Mac plates as they leave a lot of blank area on the "wings" on either side.
So I went for a rectangular narrow plate front and back which I think looks good. However, the shorter plate means it doesn't bend so easily so it was a real PITA to get the front one to stick, despite trying to pre-bend the plate. However, several extra sticky pads and pressing it down constantly for a week using various things wedged up against the end the of the garage seemed to do the trick! It's been on there for a few months now...
