Hi All,

I read on another forum that the extended Mclaren warranty on 3 year old plus cars is only transferable if you buy from a private seller.

If you buy a car from a non Mclaren dealership, the extended warranty is void.

Can anyone confirm this please, as many dealers are advertising cars as including the balance of Mclaren warranty from the previous owner.

Thanks!

This is true , however quite a few cars for sale in non mclaren dealerships are SOR, so the owner has the ability to transfer you the warranty, the dealer is just the middle man. I believe the fee is £25 and there is a time limit on when it can be transferred. 60/90 days before expiry.

Bought mine from an Indie and they just had the old owner transfer the warranty to me ( car wasn't SOR either) so not an issue.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Apologies for the dumb question but do you know if the 570 has a timing chain or belt. I assumed chain but someone told me belt. Thanks!
