Following on from the AndrewD thread, I finally realised a dream on Thursday when I collected this from Alastair Bols

I had a 650 spider before which I loved, and actually asked AB around a year ago to inform me if this specific car ever came up for sale from its owner whom bought it new.

Initial impression comparing to 650? Well, the 650 is such an amazing car, I suppose it is that, but just more. The two things I was most concerned about are nowhere near as some reviews have painted; its not harsh at all to drive, and the turning circle 'issue' is not an 'issue'.

There are a few current topics I can give my views with around 600 miles so far.

Alastair Bols; absolute gentleman, goes way beyond the extra mile and cannot recommend him enough.

Seats; very fortunately the only owner prior to me had both the P1 bucket seats and also the comfort seats, and both were negotiated into the sale.

There is a view that 675 cars without bucket seats are less desirable.

I am 6'1'', 36'' waist on a great day, and found for me, the bucket seats were absolutely amazingly comfy, but only for the first 120miles of the journey home; the electric seats fitted to my previous 650 were the comfiest seats i have ever sat in, and at no point ever felt cramp or discomfort. I shall he fitting the comfort seats as soon as they arrive.

SSO is perhaps the only other owner whom has conveyed this view, and in my experience he is right.

Insurance; I added this onto my group policy with Admiral with no tracker and cost was an additional £497 for the 10mths remaining on the policy; this was with zero no claims as all my other NCB is on other vehicles on the policy.

Warranty; AB put 12mths of the exact same warranty McLaren offer. It was serviced / inspected 10 days ago at Ascot with zero issues. Lets see how the next 12 months go and decide if I shall extend; I wouldn't buy one without the warranty in place though, but do accept that when it comes to sell, buyers shall feel just like I do.

Best moment of ownership; when AB gave me my 1st ever glimpse of a napier 675 in the flesh when we entered his showroom, and how he had prepped it to look like the day the previous owner bought it; I was totally blown away.

Currently having to pinch myself that I have got my hands on this.

I think every McLaren owner knows exactly how I am currently feeling.

Happy driving fellow Mac owners.

Congratulations on an absolutely stunning car especially the colour, which although its not for me personally wishing to be stealth, is amazing if you want to be seen.
Agree 650S is a fantastic car but from all accounts these LTs are very very special and worth more than twice the price if you want tge pinnacle of the range.
TBH its no different than ferrari special edition cars being worth twice the money.
Given the choice between a 458 speciale and a 675LT spider the mclaren wins hands down in every dept bar sound possibly but even that is subjective.

Please post more updates as you get to appreciate its talents further as im told you need driving time in a mac to understand the car better

Fantastic, congratulations.

The 675LT is a dream car of mine, and in my opinion the best looking modern Mac (P1 aside) there is.

I actually started with AB looking for a Napier spider. He is indeed a lovely chap, fully concur.

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone!

I had lift in my 650 but never required its use, however it seems imperative lift being spec'd in the 675 as I have needed to use it a few times already.

I love McLarens in bright colours; nothing to do with being 'seen'. I have loved napier since I first seen a picture of a 675 in that colour in 2015 and made what I thought was an idle promise that one day I would have one somehow.

I generally do not feel you can travel in a McLaren incognito regardless of colour.

The leather comfort seats are away for a few alterations before being sent up and fitted; I want them to have green stitching, change the embossed 675 on the headrests with it stitched in the correct colours and finally the leather centre sections of both seats replaced with alcantara.

Few more pics as requested; these are from AB as I have not taken any of my own yet.

Many congrats - phenomenal car and good to hear another owner experience. To pick up on a couple of points:

I agree with you on the seats - I used to see the bucket seats as an essential, but mine is a high days and holidays road trip car, rather than a trackday monster, and I have no regrets with the electric seats in the car. No doubt the buckets are amazingly comfortable for what they are though.

Lift is absolutely essential in my experience. I guess the front overhang is a bit more than the 650 with the revised nose - I have definitely needed it a number of times in a matter of weeks driving.

Cheers

TBH I've found the bucket seats the most comfortable sear I've ever sat in by a Country mile for this style of car .
Personally I wouldnt see the need for a spare set of normal comfort seats as I think the road noise from 6 hrs continuous driving would hit me before seat comfort.
If the right spec car came up with everything but comfort seats I suppose I could cost in a £10k change to buckets to get the desired seats

Hi Dave

Thats exactly how I am using the car, so seating comfort is paramount; after 7 hours on Thursday the novelty of the buckets had worn off.

Would love to see more pics of your car.

Regards the wheels; these 20 spoke superlights were, i believe, an option only on the spiders, but that's not to say coupe owners did not retro fit them.

As with the ceramic brakes, very little dust ends up on the wheels and after over 500 miles they still looked like I had just cleaned them.

Not had a chance to use it since I brought it home, but having a quick peek kind of makes up for that.

Congrats! Fantastic looking thing!

May I ask who you're getting to do your seats? I'd quite like my leather centres to be replaced with alcantara at some point.

Thanks for your nice comment!

The seats shall be going to d:class; they do a lot of the MSO work and are very, very good at what they do.

That looks fantastic, congratulations.

Without wanting to put a dampener on it, have you declared all factory fitted options with Admiral as their fine print requires those to be declared?

Thanks for the heads up.

I was fortunate enough to receive the original bill of sale with the car listing all of the optional extras, and although Admiral wanted notification of them, it added zero onto the premium.

I was more surprised that the deactivated tracker and zero no claims also made no difference to the premium.
