So I've had my 570s for 18 months now...I love the car but admittedly it has required some warranty work which had I not had the warranty would have been eyewatering! However it was all taken care of no problems and the ownership experience beyond that has been phenomenal! For me lapping the car last summer at a perfectly dry and fast Nurburgring has been the peak ownership moment closely followed by a group of youngsters losing their st as I cruised past in Belgium on the way back from the Ring...the love for the car was something else! Even today out for a casual blast and lots of chat from random people. Its a humble sports series in the Mclaren hierarchy but it might as well be a P1 to the general public! Anyway interested to hear the best interactions people have had, these cars seem to be generally admired and loved by everyone... By contrast I remember getting the coffee beans in my R8 More than once...never in the MC smile

Loved every minute in my 650.

Loads of stand out moments, but probably when I collected it and topped it up with fuel, the reaction in the petrol station was a bit of a surprise so I suppose 'stand out'.

It was like I turned up in a spaceship, as all others that were there kind of stopped what they were doing and gawped; after that they wanted a chat, look about, a sit inside and selfies.

It was something that became 'the norm'.

Never had that with previous Ferraris or Porsches; best it would be 50 / 50 for being blanked or as you say 'coffee beans'.

It only seems on pistonheads there is a dislike for McLaren.

I probably havent owned mine long enough for a genuine never to forget moment, but will definitely echo the above, the attention from all age demographics and genders is so positive and enthusiastic, seems everyone loves a Mclaren, even the baby 570s.

Yep, lot of love for them out on the public roads. Not as much as with my old Lambo's but not had a negative comment yet.

Only had mine 3 mths but the stand-out moment so far was pulling into Tesco the other day. The cinema next door had a big car event going on for the release of F&F. Organisers ran over and asked if I'd park up with the other cars. Some great chats with other owners and a beautiful, unmolested TVR 4000SE that I drooled over for a while. Lots of appreciation from the other owners, left with a best of the best prize (bit unfair considering what the McL was up against) and some free cinema tickets. Oh, and the pregnancy test I'd picked up for the wife rofl

Best moment? Open the door, get in, sit down.
Looking at the starting button for a while....

Knowing it will be a very nice ride when depressing the knob.

Any given Sunday early with dry roads. Blasting down empty roads and drifting around empty roundabouts on the way to my weekend competitive sports. Then cruising home top down after.

From the time when I drove back home from collecting my 600LT, when many on the motorway waved at the car, it has been a constant sense of occasion with people and kids litterally dropping their jaws when they see it.

That's rapid! Nice pics...most I've been up to on the autobahn was 170mph v hard to get a clear enough run to go much faster when I've been there.

12C & 675LT have both been awesome over the past 5.5 years and have made many happy memories and friends, that's the best bit of ownership the other owners and there is always something happening or an event to be part of.

Good thread..

For me, probably a couple of years ago now. Unfortunately my mum had a bad diagnosis at the start of 2019, and one of her 'bucket list' tickboxes was to do the NC500. Easy fix there, a few days away for me taking the 540C and spending some quality time together. A really fantastic trip and we were blessed with good weather the whole time.

We did all the usual West Coast route and added in a loop around Skye, taking in the Talisker Distillery and had lunch at the Three Chimneys. Stopped off at Glenfinnan Viaduct, she's a big Harry Potter fan, and just by chance watched some low flying jets overhead. We ended the trip by walking the beach at Dornoch where my parents took our family for our holidays at the caravan park. I've posted these pictures before but worthy of a repost.

Your car looks great in red in that picture, very rare I would imagine. I'd love to do that route but these days it'll be mobbed and the fun just drains away for me.

So sad but what an absolute fantastic memory to have and been able to share with her smile

I love road trips to The Alps. My favourite trip was September 2018. in the first photo you can see a tunnel in the background, goes from Italy into Livigno, much noise and fun was had along there smile

This photo was taken by a biker who I'd just had an enthusiastic drive up an Alp in front of :-)
