Carbon fibre racing seats
Discussion
Does anyone have any experience of the 'standard' carbon fibre racing seats in a 720S. I keep coming back to this car:

but haven't sat in these seats and the car is a long way from me. I don't particularly want the performance pack. but nice cars are thin on the ground and the spec on this looks good. Unsure about the seats though. No issues with the regular seats.

Sat in these P1 style seats in a 675LT albeit it in alcantara a couple of weeks ago and they are subime.
Found them really supportive and comfortable at same time.
The driving position seemed spot on but I dont think there is any adjustments so could depend on your own body type.
Would make the standard car feel more sporty IMHO but the compromise is no adjustment so ideally you need to try them yourself.
For me it would be a desirable and expensive option to have.
Standard 720S seat is very comfortable with lots of adjustments but less supportive so would not be as good for any track work if thats your bag.
That car does standout but photos have been heavily photoshopped to enhance the image

PS spec is awesome as is the colour but just noticed the seats are not touring size so unless you are of a smallish build they will be a cosy fit.
I'm 6 ft 2" and 16st and the touring size seats were as tight as I would want so if you are a similar size the standard seat might be on the small side although technically they are only something like 1 cm smaller and someone told me it was not the frame but just the thickness of the foam padding which could be easily changed I guess

I may be strange, but I always tick the 'national' search box when looking for cars, even at a few £k. I'll happily travel (perhaps a little less so in the current climate) to find a good one, and it's not overmuch hassle, all told. - though to be fair, I went to Portugal to buy a Land Rover on spec, so maybe I am odd..... But for a car at >£150k, when there are so few around, if it ticks all the other boxes and you just need to sit in it, then I'd be going to visit.
Either that, or find someone closer with the same seats to try out: it seems a little odd, to me, to potentially rule it out when it's an easy check. Why would you not go to take a look?

To be exact the car is a 720S Performance with a Track Pack https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11623460

The seats can be fairly easily adapted to touring by the replacement of the foam bolsters with narrower ones. The company that do Mclaren MSO can do this
The seats themselves only have a height adjustment which is a pain to adjust but the seats are superb as is the car, fabulous spec

I might, but it's a 350+ mile round trip and if I can rule it out by getting information from someone who knows, that seems sensible.Either that, or find someone closer with the same seats to try out: it seems a little odd, to me, to potentially rule it out when it's an easy check. I have the std size carbon racing seats in my 570s, i have a little room to play at 30" ish waist, i have taken a few friends out and most are happy, i would say if you are anything over a 34" waist you are going to struggle with std size.
They are amazingly comfortable that being said, the position/recline/tilt is just perfect, i have never felt the need to want to adjust even if it was available.
Seems they fetch very strong money to, so worst case scenario, part them out and buy some std adjustables if the car ticks the boxes, or just hold onto them till you sell.

My 570S is fitted with the standard size seats and they are amazingly comfy. Have driven 900 miles in a day and wanted to drive further when I reached my destination!
Another plus of the carbon seats is that the manual adjustment is much faster than the electric motors. This can make climbing in and out very much easier and quicker.

I had the carbon buckets in a 650S Spider in regular size and loved them but bigger friends found them too tight. I went up a size to Touring carbon buckets in my 675LT Spider which didn't suit my narrow frame quite as well. I'm going back to regular size on my 765LT. It's all about me this time. I'm 32" waist and 73kg.

Interesting. Not a million miles from me so would probably be okay. That track pack car is no longer for sale, I tried to buy it last week from the owner directly but he’s decided to keep it. Don’t blame him, that’s one of the nicest on the market.
I ended up buying another car with touring size buckets and they’re a superb fit (34” waist here), but I do personally find them a touch too reclined. I’ve also just bought a set of manual comfort seats so I can have for daily use, and I’ll pop the buckets back in for road trips etc.

You can never get a straight story can you? I had a reply back from the dealer to say that they were part way through completing a sale on the car but would let me know if it fell through.I ended up buying another car with touring size buckets and they’re a superb fit (34” waist here), but I do personally find them a touch too reclined.
