570S Track Pack v's 675LT Club Sport
Discussion
I'm looking for a track focused McLaren that I can drive to the circuit but is more focused for the circuit. I would be using the GT circuits so looking for good high speed handling, v's tight corners etc. I've been out in the 620r and was blown away with the car but I can't justify the cost.
I'm looking for something to hold onto and will replace my 911 Turbo as my road car.
Anyone got any thoughts?

If price was the issue with the 620R I presume you are aware there is at least a £90k price delta or almost twice the price between those 2 cars. Both are rarish specs ( from my experience of trawling the classifieds for a Mclaren over the last 12 months ) but a clubsport Super series 675LT is going to be like rocking horse st I would of thought and £190k whilst a 570S track pack circa £100k.
From what I have gathered in my research the LT is a massive change above the base model car whereas from what I have read the track pack is just an options upgrade ( something like lightweight wheels, bucket seats, roll cage, spoiler ) of the base model.
No experience of driving both but would of thought just from the performance stats alone the 570S would not have seen which way the 675LT went.
I don't think its a fair comparison personally but money no object it would obviously be the 675LT for me

As stated these 2 cars are miles apart and not just on price.
A 675LT was and to a degree is still the connoisseurs choice. 765LT is in another league!
I owned a TP 570s and it is not a thing of beauty for track use. I have a 720S now and neither is that unfortunately.
If tracking is your thing then without a doubt a nice spec 600LT would be best bet.
For heavy tracking swap out the rotors for surface transforms with endless pads and a light stage 1 tune ( invalidating warranty could be an issue ) and you would have a car equipped to take on a 675 on track and only be marginally worse on road

Some good insights, I recognise they are very different in price (almost double) but was wondering how much of a gap there is between the two of them when it comes to cornering. I don't get over exited by BHP, top end and straight line speed but like having something that can keep up with the machines on track.
I was swaying to the 675LT and they also seem get very good reviews due to the rarity.

I drove a 620 R at Siiverstone on Monday and was equally blown away by it. I wonder how much they really charge hands for ? I know of someone that got a pretty good deal on one when they were first announced. I would love to hear from someone that has driven the 620R and a 675LT or 600 LTRocketreid said:

I have recently bought a 570s with track pack, specifically as i wanted to do a few track days, as with most of my previous cars and already got a track day in, my thoughts are:If tracking is your thing then without a doubt a nice spec 600LT would be best bet.
I have to say, i was blown away with it on track, sure it may be a little soft on the suspension, but to me that outweighs the impact it would have on its road manners if stiffer springs were fitted.
Braking was excellent, huge stopping power and no fade, grip was enough on not so great PZero Corsas, with a set of decent Cup 2's or similar it would have helped it up another level, steering is sublime and very stable in high speed corners, i am struggling to think what really could be improved and interested in your views on what its lacking? Comparing on fastest laps, there is really not much in it, 2 or 3 seconds at the tracks listed for the pair.

Maybe I am a being a bit harsh on both the 570 and 720, which are by the way brilliant road cars.
The main issue on track is the softness of the suspension and to a degree the brakes. I Imagine for 95% of Mac owners this Is absolutely fine, judging by the way many are driven on track.
The 570 lacks aero and mechanical grip and can become floaty at speed and through high speed corners.
My 720S at Silverstone this week with fantastic conditions highlighted its short comings when really pushing on. As I took my other cars I had the opportunity to do back to back comparisons and while the 720 was ballistic down Hanger and Wellington it wasn’t particularly pleasant through Stowe etc.
This is no surprise as it weighs over 1,400kg and isn’t a particularly track focussed car.
I probably won’t be bothering to track it much in the future as it doesn’t for me provide a great experience.
Everyone to their own and as occasional track day cars driven at 75% they are very good.
Also had the opportunity to drive a few other Supercars on the day

Silverstone was a great event this week. I went on Tuesday, with a few Porsches, Cayman S (track focused), 996 T and 964
Pirelli and the manufactures put on a great event and I was most impressed by McLaren, and liked their focus on events and customer days.
Yep excellent day, although one of the quietest track day’s I’ve done.,Pirelli and the manufactures put on a great event and I was most impressed by McLaren, and liked their focus on events and customer days.
would have been better if some of the owners had got out on track rather than sit drinking their cappuccino’s.
You don’t improve your track driving in the paddock and the circuit and conditions were excellent so no excuses

I was pleasantly surprised at how hard you were allowed to driving the OEM’s demo cars.

I agree its a little soft for a "serious" track day tool, brakes i thought were more than fine, i would also say deliberately under tyred and you are on the money with the 75% comment, i doubt there are many that can or will drive at 100%, i would dare say there are specific track cars (atom etc) a lot better suited to that anyway.I have to say, i was blown away with it on track, sure it may be a little soft on the suspension, but to me that outweighs the impact it would have on its road manners if stiffer springs were fitted.

I think if it were me i would be buying a 570s, throw a little money at it with litchfield and have something at 40k plus less than a 600LT, thats most likely going to end up quicker and more track focussed again.
