Hi

Sorry for another "buying" question!

Anyone know this car or have any opinions on it?

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11705346

Price is a bit toppy but it's my favourite colour! Is only doing 4000 miles in three years likely to throw up issues, as general wisdom seems to be more use means more reliability?

Can't argue with the colour, and does have the bowers audio upgrade but not much else in terms of spec imo. No carbon ( if that's your thing ) other than interior pack, standard exhaust, leather seats as all sport series seem to do gone 'baggy' and no PPF. Also wheel in photo has been kerbed though am sure Mclaren will have that fixed.

Not many nicely specced 570 spiders for sale around now though and prices have definitely increased recently.

I bought mine from London last June and was really pleased with their service. Car has been 100% reliable with NO issues.

Regards to high/low mileage it wouldn't bother me assuming the car you buy has a Mclaren Warranty. I'm sure others might disagree!

Good luck in your search.

It does have front end PPF but not listed in ad, apparently. It has Lux and Sec packs and the important interior carbon bits which covers pretty much everything I would want although I agree lack of sports exhaust is a pity - I guess one could be fitted at some point down the line if so desired. See my other thread regarding baggy leather seats! It's at Ascot currently which may make it easier to view.

I saw this car at McAscot a couple of weeks ago when it had just arrived in. Its incredibly striking in that colour. I had a good walk around it and it had been well looked after. Very nice car!

If lack of exterior carbon doesn't bother you then a exhaust upgrade would have you near to your perfect spec. Joe public really hasn't a clue re specs and just love these cars so get ready for some attention if and when you buy!

Re your other post I have had leather in pretty much every car I ever owned and was really sceptical about alcantara. Have to say I personally love it. To me, the alcantara/leather combo is perfect in style and comfort.

Thanks. It's useful to know how good a car looks before it's been prepped. The Volcano colours have always been my favourite!

I'm fine with lack of exterior carbon, Mr Nut. Better if it has it, yes, but I think the price point of the 570s means far less have it than the 650s. For me personally having the palladium roof is more important.
Good point about the exhaust as well - a pretty simple upgrade with lots of options although it adds a few Ks onto what is already a top priced car. I guess the seat centres could be retrimmed in Alcantara as well for a reasonable sum. I wonder if anyone's done this before?

Not sure you see many 570's with Carbon Exterior. I've not seen any, except the Stealth coloured one at Birmingham which is ultra rare. If thats the car your after, you're likely to have gone down the 600LT route.

Just a note on the car coming with PPF. Its more than likely that the McDealer will remove it as part of the car prep to deal with any issues, so somewhat irelevant what it has when it comes in I've found. I'm having to get a new install done by Topaz via McAscot.

Bought my 570spider from McAscot last year. Car had full PPF. One door had corrosion which was corrected pre sale and PPF re applied.
Also came with this exterior spec
McLaren Special Operations Carbon Fibre Exterior Pack
MSO Defined Carbon Fibre Front Splitter
MSO Defined Carbon Fibre Rear Bumper
MSO Defined Carbon Fibre Rear Spoiler
Carbon Fibre Tonneau Cover
Palladium Roof
They also had a near identical spec to this one in the same MSO colour so choosing which to buy was was difficult. Happy with my choice car has been brilliant.

Prices seem to have shot up in the last couple of mths. End of March I paid £96k for my 2018 Spider in Vega Blue, 1 owner, carbon exterior, paladium roof, sports exhaust.

Trade (indie), cash deal done on the day. Picked it up the next morning. Couple of little issues (passenger window dropping and iris dropping connection via BT) but sorted under McL warranty. Main dealer also gave it a clean bill of health for the warranty renewal due later this year. Needs a set of tyres in about 1000 miles, that's it. And I absolutely love it, great drivers car. Should of bought one a long time ago but all the negativity was putting me off. Was either this, a 458 or a Huracan so saved a few quid as well.

Yep, Summer, lockdown ending and pent up demand. Availability has gone down, prices up.

£110k for the cheapest 570s spider now?

That's a bit of a bargain you got there. I didn't see it advertised in the usual places so guess you got in early - always the best way!
I am a tad hesitant at looking to buy at what seems like a peak, although that's slightly mitigated by a better value for my trade in. We'll see ...

Just to book end this thread, I've bought it!
It'll be a few weeks until I get it, though, as it needs to go off for some new body panels and a bit of refurb.
Despite the lack of Alcantara and sports exhaust I couldn't resist the colour !

Lovely car. Concerns me with McLaren in general that a 4000 mile car would need new panels or is that down to the owner damaging?

It's a relatively common issue.....fixed for free under paint warranty by McLaren.

It a combination of both. VERY minor corrosion inside the front wheel arch (I wouldn't have spotted it) means new front wings. There's a scuff on the front bumper. The driver's door has damage from what looks like a trapped seat belt buckle and the passenger door is very slightly out of alignment so has damaged the paint on the back edge of the door and leading edge of the rear wing. One of the alloys had slight curbing as well!

It's mostly fine tooth comb stuff which you wouldn't notice from five paces away and I guess one of the advantages of paying the premium of buying from a Mac dealer.

It would seems so, both front wings replaced under warranty found during the mpi at Mclaren.
