Hi people, ??
I'm looking into a MP4 and wondered if they are a good it?
Will be moving from TVR.
Cheers in advance Regards Burnie
Only if you want the best designed and best to drive car in its price range I'm looking into a MP4 and wondered if they are a good it?

Don’t be turned off by those saying it’s too cold or numb. All the real feedback signals come through while cutting out the random jiggling that poor designs call “feel”.

Thanks for all the positive posts, I have sat in one a few years ago and ever since wanted to at least drive one.
So I'm becoming a big boy now and my Boss the lovely lady indoors has tipped her head, that surely means I m allowed?
So seen a Orange one at Philip Ireland.
Anybody know the car he has told me it's had some paint work but still has the original ppl around 30k spent over its life, my slight worry is low milage and had to spend so much on it.
It will come with 12 mths mot, and inspection for a Warranty which is about £2800..will I need to spend that amount?
If you guys are to go by it seems your all very happy what's your running costs is 30k a lot?
I'm coming from the Brand ever one says there unreliable 🙄😂😂
My experience having had 2 Tamoras is nothing but fantastic cars..
Ps read my original post my spelling and the like is terrible 🙄🙄👆

Paint isn't all that unusual on McLarens, since they have had a problem with corrosion issues. Mine hasn't (as far as I know) but did still have paint due to fading. So I'm becoming a big boy now and my Boss the lovely lady indoors has tipped her head, that surely means I m allowed?

It is low mileage, but not drastically so - not enough that I'd worry too much if I was buying.
£30k sounds like quite a lot, but depends what is included. If you have the warranty then running costs are generally pretty low - but the warranty itself is not cheap. 12C is a super series car - which means the official McLaren warranty on a car over 5 years old is marginally under £5k not £2,800. Thorney's indy warranty is more like £2,800.
(Some) McLarens - including mine - seem to suffer from fairly regular "niggles" - mostly electrical, and 99% are nothing more than a glitch that won't happen again. It can be irritating at first - makes you think the car is falling apart - but regular use reduces them, and you soon start ignoring them anyway unless they happen regularly.

If I’ve put 2 and 2 together correctly, you have a very nice Tamora in red?? If so, my advice is to hold off on a McLaren purchase for another 18 months until I can buy your Tamora from you. I'm looking into a MP4 and wondered if they are a good it?

I think for what is an essentially a private sale treaty as no warranty is offered on his cars (my understanding maybe wrong) , I'd keep looking as the spec is pretty low on that car, lack of carbon interior is an issue I'd imagine with buyers (generally).
Funny enough my old 12c came up for sale this week at the same money and was sold in 24 hrs, so the good ones go fast.
Have you watched John Thorney 5 million miles YouTube video and buyers guides etc ? as these are really useful for research.

Cheers for your reply it seems the car is still a customers car and he is selling it for them reading between the lines. Followed a well used dirty 12c up the A14 this morning. What a lovely grown up design that is, front and back ends both look fab, great read presence, less fussy than the 540-70s. High exhausts do it for me too. Envious of those lucky enough to own one.
Just come off the used car section here which is dangerous!!!

Owned mine over 5 years and have not regretted 1 day of ownership. Since the warranty ran out from the dealer, I never bothered to pay for one.
If it has McExtended warranty or Thorney warranty, then you are comfortable at least that if anything goes wrong, you are covered. Be prepared to pay a little more for a nice one, rather than find the cheapest one you can as there may be a reason it's cheap, like all cars.
Don't be put off by mileage either, I have done 33,000 miles in mine and I believe they are better for being driven, I'm never letting it go either, so mileage and resale don't bother me.
