Bit of a how long is a piece of string question but what has been people’s experiences from buying approved used vehicles from McLaren? Are discounts from the headline prices generally negotiable (particularly with vehicles that have been sat on their forecourt for at least a month, etc.) or whether an additional year of the warranty could be offered instead?

Recent feedback I've had is Mark Ballance at Leeds being very pro-active and helpful. Other than that Ben Plows at Rybrook McLaren Birmingham/Bristol has always been brilliant whenever I've had clients buy from them, he's the business manager but will point you in the right direction. He'll be straight with you if there is a deal to be done.

McLeeds are excellent - it's subsequent to purchasing a car that the value of ongoing dealership service/support is revealed.

I have just dealt with Steven at Mc Glasgow. Transaction all very smooth and they are open to a deal. I also have a delivery guy with a covered trailer that I can highly recommend.

I'm currently shopping around the dealer network for a 570S Spyder. I'm looking at ones circa 2016/17. I'm pushing my man maths to the max in order to facilitate the purchase. As a consequence i want the peace of mind of a 2 year warranty. Is this something I can push the dealers to include? Anyone else succeed in this?

I haven’t bought one but even the guy who could barely be bothered to speak to me at McLaren Manchester (which isn’t in Manchester) offered up a 2 year warranty without asking so I imagine it’s reasonably easy to get included if you go for the best deal rather than the best price.

Thanks for the info Lee Jones Jnr. I'll push for the two years when it gets to negotiation time. I'm trying to locate a 'bright' coloured one for as close to £100k as possible but they are a bit think on the ground. There's a green one at £115k but that's out of budget. Sigh.

+1 here for Rybrook McLaren Birmingham. Just traded my 570S for a 720S - have dealt with Gary Pugh for a couple of years, on a few cars and have always been very well looked after. In addition, their service department is really very good. They’re about 2.5 hours away from me but wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Good luck with your search

- I love the colour but have my heart set on a Spider.

Bottom line you'll be paying for that 2nd year. It'll cost the dealer £3,000 (it goes to Mclaren) They'll give you a 2nd year, but it just means that's £3k less they'll knock off the price.

Changing the subject a little but what are Mclaren finance rates like? Love the look of this https://preowned.mclaren.com/eu/gb/en/vehicles/mcl...

Its more than a coincidence that Glasgow and Leeds get the most amount of praise across the board...they are the same group.

My experience at Glasgow from Anita at the front desk all the way through to Lee the main man has been fantastic.

Going through and having a blether with the technicians and getting their thoughts on the various models is also a great insight.

Ferrari at Fort Kinnaird were great along with Scotts counterpart Douglas, but Mac Glasgow are on another level.

Very communicative and cannot be more helpful.

Just my experience but seems as though any others on here that have dealt with Glasgow have the same opinion.
