I know that one of the issues with macs is the lack of indies and other service options and I have recently seen that LITCHFIELD MOTORS now offer servicing etc

https://www.litchfieldmotors.com/mclaren/mclaren-s...

They have a brilliant set up and the team are a real friendly bunch. It's great to see another options and if I get a Mclaren I would have know issue at all with them looking after it.

I haven't seen it mentioned on here so just thought I would highlight it as I am extremely happy with the service they have given me in the past.

They have looked after my R35 GTR for the last 5years and I have always been happy with there service and attention to detail. They are regarded as the best for GTR's which is why I am happy to make the 180mile round trip each year for there service so I'm confident they will build a good reputation with the Mclarens.

It seems they will also be modifying them too so if that's your thing I will leave a link to their 840bhp remapped 720s biggrin

They're definitely the "go to" for GT-Rs, even if brand new or even to be delivered, they have such a good connection with Nissan for new products and huge reputation.

Good to know they've started on McLs however not sure how long it is going to take for them to become a "go to" place....

I watched a video a few weeks back how they are doing a remap that takes the 720 to around 860bhp for about £1k + vat.

As they are pretty near the top of their game when it comes to tuning, it seems like a mega upgrade bargain that is well within the parameters of what the car can take safely.

I could never had imagine that you would feel the difference between 720 and 860bhp on the normal road but according to that video, it is possible or is it the placebo effect?

bks! They are 10 minutes from my front door in Tewkesbury. Shame I am moving to North East Lincolnshire in 3 weeks.

Are they being supported by McLaren in the same way as Bell & Colville? They are geographically well placed between McBristol and McBrum - good catchment area.

Can only speak highly of Litchfield as they have been servicing and recently modifying my MY17 GTR. I've been thinking of making the move to a McLaren for the last 2 years and this is a game changer in the McLaren market, in my opinion.

Not that I am aware of, they're just a indie wrt McLaren. Definitely different with Nissan, as I know they have link/relationship with some Nissan dealers and Nissan HQ

Looking at their site and reading the following it would appear they are OK for the Mclaren warranty unless I'm reading this wrong?

"Our investment in the required tools, diagnostic equipment and facilities means we are able to look after your McLaren to these high standards whilst maintaining the factory warranty and service routine. So whether you have a low mileage McLaren for weekend runs, a higher mileage daily driver or a trackday toy we have the passion and expertise to help. "

I think I may pop in and clarify the situation. If they have the blessing of McLaren it is a significant step for owners in the west.

Are we joking? It would be a game changer, having the blessing from McLaren.

I don't see it plausible, I mean I am assuming most of dealers won't be ok to accept any warranty work if services are not done by them.

Bell & Colville are a McLaren authorised service centre, but not a dealer.

Litchfield are not authorised service centre, they would have made it clear otherwise.

I bet they mean they service to manufacturer spec so new car warranty is not invalidated in line with EU rules (is it block Exemption?)
Not that their mods are manufacture approved and non warranty voiding! Can’t be that.

Any chance they could get round to getting one anywhere on the entire island of Ireland?

Utterly ludicrous that you have to take a ferry to get to a dealer. Not to mention the amount of sales they are excluding.

You are probably correct.

Interesting to find out how they update the software levels as part of the annual/mileage service. It’s a default of the service schedule carried out by authorised dealers. AFAIK, only authorised dealers have access to the latest software via an internet connection direct to McHQ.

It will be exactly that though maybe in the future they will offer there own warranty like on other cars they do

It's fantastic that they are getting involved and offering a service, it will encourage a few more to dip their toes into McLaren

That’s funny.

I’m buying a place on the outskirts of Marshchapel.
