Needed an excuse to bed-in the new P1 bucket seats fitted on Thursday.
Since Thursday: Gloucester > Birmingham > Cleethorpes > Sunderland > Hexham > Sunderland.
Returning to Gloucester on Monday via the A66 and Lake District.
Verdict: P1 bucket seats are a pain-in-the-ass to get out of, but my god, they are well worth the effort.
BTW, I’ve covered 6.5K miles since collecting the car in February 2020. Can’t stop driving the thing.
Cheeky photo opportunity

Thinking about it I’ve definitely (unconsciously) reduced amount of time here.
McLaren great product with its foibles like everything else in life, and I really enjoy reading about experiences from fellow owners.
This place is a bit like tk maxx you start going there when you find a gem of a bargain but then when in subsequent visits you realise the tide of pointless irrelevant cr*p you need to wade through all too often you stop bothering.

Driving mine obviously and chilly outside temp means even more fun.
Yes P1s are truly magnificent seats, stiffer than Porsche 918s or Sport buckets but hey they feel like a glove.
I am now used to get seat back and fwd to get in and then drive, and it's part of the drama and beauty, mine is not a daily.
Don't feel the need for Sennas, too overkill although a level above in terms of design and drama.
Plus, I love to have a piece of instant classic like P1
Mick, do you have Touring size? I was concerned initially as thought they may be too large for my regular body but actually I am glad as they're comfy and I don't move around in it, I think also driven by sticky alcantara.

Too bad for those of us who avoid Fakebook.....
I had a similar opinion. I only setup my FB account last year after retiring. It’s straightforward and can be customised to a high degree of security. I use it for access to specific groups of interest.MAC did give me the lowdown last year but I cannot get past the registration page.
Real pity it is Facebook only.

I have touring size in leather. Moving seat back and fwd is the only way I can get in/out. The side thigh bolsters are pretty high, but once in the car they are very supportive - no room for sliding about. I need to heighten the seat by an extra notch as the default position is too low for my stumpy body. I’m 5’ 9”, but mostly legs. I’ll need to take the seat out to adjust, but looks pretty easy.Yes P1s are truly magnificent seats, stiffer than Porsche 918s or Sport buckets but hey they feel like a glove.

Bolts are at the lowest setting.

Hi MAC720S ,
i've never even seen a P1 seat or its runners , so probably got this completely wrong , but looking at the photo , although the bolts are at their lowest setting , doesn't that put the seat at its maximum height ?
If you put the bolts through either of the two higher settings , wont it move the seat progressively lower and backwards ? -- which is the opposite to what you want ?
Very intrigued about this seat adjustment mechanism , so please could you explain .
Is the black bit in the photo part of the seat runner ?
From the photo , there don't appear to be any pre-drilled holes visible in the carbon fibre weave where the 2 higher bolt holes are - so presumably you can only move the seat downwards and backwards ( short of drilling more sets of holes in the carbon fibre ) ?

The black triangular shaped bracket forms part of the framework that the actual CF bucket seat sits within. The CF seat itself has captured nuts. By undoing the bolts (there are four of them - two front and two rear), the seat can be adjusted upwards within the framework using the two other ‘higher’ holes - circled in red. i've never even seen a P1 seat or its runners , so probably got this completely wrong , but looking at the photo , although the bolts are at their lowest setting , doesn't that put the seat at its maximum height ?

I feel as though the fee is neither here nor there; seem to remember there was a fee for the Ferrari owner club but may be wrong.
However, I also feel that with access being Facebook only, they are missing out on a stload of owners whom may join but have no desire whatsoever to join Facebook, regardless of which filters can be turned on or off.
I thought when I discussed it with MAC way over a year ago I was prob just being irrational, but apparently going by posts here, it is not just myself that feels that way.

Or those that don't feel the need to pay £50 to access an online forum...........
It’s not an online forum. They only use FB as a tool to communicate and share information. FB is such an easy, modern and efficient platform to use, it makes sense to use it.The £50.00 is insignificant when weighing up the benefits of organised club events, supplier discounts, McLaren hospitality, Goodwood, Grand Prix and factory tours etc. AFAIK, it is the only club in the world that is recognised by McLaren HQ, to the extent that the MOC organisers have regular meetings with McLaren senior management to feedback customer experience direct from owners and to learn what is in the pipeline. McLaren management even attend the MOC Xmas party, held last year at The Belfry.
The organisers put a lot of their time and effort into the club - for free.
