Lovely colour. Not seen many like that.https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10000327?c...
It looks to be of the latest build as denoted by the silver swoosh and the additional metalwork as seen through the rear diffuser. Some 2019 registered cars were actually built in 2018, do have the silver swoosh, but not the additional metal. Cars built after June 2018 have a different level of software, which is not backwards compatible.
Older build with red swoosh
Middle build with silver swoosh but no additional metalwork
Latest build with silver swoosh and extra metalwork
I have no idea what the additional metalwork is for but it seems to have been introduced around about April 2019. My 720S built in April 2019 has the additional metalwork. My previous 2017 did not have the metalwork.
It has the nose lift and sports exhaust, which for me would be essential. The rest is just jewellery.
Anyway, that car is stunning. You can have some relative peace of mind that it is bang-up-to-date. Only the McLaren anoraks will notice that there isn’t a CF engine cover, but to the average Joe Public, it is a spaceship.
Would be interesting to know what the build date is? It may be due a service?

Your dates are wrong on this I think, my May '18 has latest software, system version SW3.100.0010.00 and had an factory ECU update at its first service early 2019. I think it may be 2017 cars which have the non compatible software you talk of ?
What is this "metalwork" you speak of, I can't see any difference ?
To the OP, that is a fantastic looking 720, great colour exterior/interior combo, I love it

Additional metal framework around gearbox, strange that McLaren have never mentioned this and I noticed this only when buying 720 Spider recently.I think it may be 2017 cars which have the non compatible software you talk of ?

OP = If you like the colour, and whats not to like, buy it as unlikely to see many other Napier 720's.

Latest Software = 3.400. Literally just taken this photo from mine.
This is simply pieced together when speaking with other 720S owners. I haven't been able to find any formal McLaren info anywhere.
