The 720s Performance that I have had the 2 and 3 additional exterior packs opted from new. It also had the additional secondary interior carbon pack.

The strange part is not all of these Carbon additions are on the car.

It has no Carbon roof but does have the MSO Carbon Aero Bridges. Inside it has no Carbon door appliqués, no HVAC surround or Display Bezel/binnacle yet has the MSO steering wheel and extended Carbon gear shifters.

It also has a couple of other MSO options not on the original order.

I never had the chance to quiz the original owner but it does seem a bit strange and bizarre!!

Anyone have any thoughts ?

Was it originally a McLaren press car? Mine was a press car and has some oddities outside of the normal spec.

Was purchased direct from the original owner Who had specced it himself I think. Would ask him but I am now unable to contact him to confirm.

I think press cars and other non made to measure for example dealer specced cars did come with a mixed array of extras

It Doesn’t particularly concern me but got me thinking if anyone else had offset one carbon part of the pack for another which they preferred

So Carbon Pack 2 included front splitter and rear bumper, assuming it has those? Carbon Pack 3 is the roof (almost like the 'T'bar', and the front air intakes.. the roof, or 'extended door upper' was commonly spec'd as glazed i think, which is the gorilla glass, makes it so bright and airy inside the cabin.

Not too sure whats going on with the interior though, secondary components should give you the bezel, infotainment surround system and door appliques.

Did he give you the full spec, direct from the manufacture portal? If you are struggling to get this, i may be able to help in getting the spec for you.

Yes it has the full 2 pack, and Primary Carbon and pack 1 came as a standard on a Performance 1. The interior also has the Carbon wheel and MSO shifters

Tbh though I’m pleased it hasn’t got the Carbon T bar roof, but the glass as you say makes the cabin more airy and it has this

I think the carbon exterior package with some additional MSO it has on it in carbon looks fine and except the bat wing engine cover which I would like, I don’t think the other bits such as bonnet and rear wing add so much.

I like a good mystery and interested to know why the spec is a bit different both inside and out. It’s in at the dealers next week so will ask them for spec from the Portal, although data protection and all that they may not be keen to oblige.

Cheers for the offer I may take you up on it if no joy

Yes you're right, the engine cover looks great in carbon, think its quite expensive though. Looks like the guy who initially spec'd the car went crazy with the carbon, sounds as though you have a nice 720! What colour is the exterior?
