So tell me again, what is the point of the 540C?

Many really,
But Imo :
It looks the same as the rest
Has steel brakes which are better for track work
For £2,800 you can get it up to around 650bhp
It’s a sight cheaper
Perhaps should have got one instead of my 720

Brakes - meh, some people still prefer steel I suppose. I think the 570GT also has steel.
Power - meh
Cheaper, well not massively cheaper than a 570S

Be interested to hear which supercars the OP has.
I don't have any supercars at the moment. I have had a few and looking for a 570S at the moment.I may or may not but as I use my real name on forums I’m easy to investigate should you wish and you’ll have no problem finding pictures on Club Scuderia etc.
I’m not really sure what is inflammatory about not seeing the point of releasing a supercar that is ‘the same but a bit less’ in every regard unless there is a big price differential, which there wasn’t.
There was a lady driving one of these silver coupe on the A414 to Hatfield a few days ago. I've never seen one on the road close up its much bigger footprint than you think. Dwarfed me. Looked an out and out supercar. I don't think they photo well always. On the move it looked brill I was really surprised by the road presence. Silver really suits Mcls.
I love this car and it’s more than quick enough for me on UK roads.
I sold my 2013 Ferrari 458 spider with 18,000 miles on back to a Ferrari dealer in Leeds.
Was missing having a special weekend toy so I started to look at McLarens again.
I purchased this 2016 540C with 15,000 miles on and with a 2 year Mclaren warranty for around half the funds I received for the 458.....
Do I miss the Ferrari.... no and I have had three, there is just something about these cars and now I am hooked.......

They are slightly smaller than the 720S, very slightly.JohnG123 said:

I think the OP main issue is there’s no significant price differential to the 570 on the used market. I sold my 2013 Ferrari 458 spider with 18,000 miles on back to a Ferrari dealer in Leeds.

Let’s face it 540hp in a car that weighs as little as the 540 is far more than enough. I think it only does 199mph and 0-100 in 7 seconds?
