Which tyres are you running on your 12C/650S?
Discussion
Post lockdown, I am looking to replace the tyres on my 12C and am looking for some advice?
I know the OE MC1 P Zero and Corsa from 2012 were heavily slated but have read that the latest versions are now virtually a match with the Michelin's?
The car will only really be used in the summer, so was thinking to opt for the latest MC1 P Zero Corsa Asimmetrico 2. Is anyone running these?

Not sure they are!
I run Pzero on my road wheels and Corsas for track but will change to PS4S for road and Cup 2’s for track when they become worn.
Ive seen how good the Michelin’s are on my Lotus and £ for £ are better than the Pirelli‘s , although there are better deals on Mc Pirelli’s online
This is on my 720 though

I don't like the PZero's, my12C was never predictable on them even with a new set. I took the Trofeo's off my 675LT and put MPS4S on and the traction is amazing! I have a set of PZero's on my Porsche and they seem fine and quite good in the wet but I find Pirelli's are much harsher riding (stiffer side wall?) so the MPS4S will be going on my Porsche too, to improve the ride. My Lotus has Cup 2's which have more traction than the Trofeo's so for me its always Michelin and I believe most 12C owners have switched to them as well as many 675 owners for road use. You may need spacers if you track though as they can rub when run hard to extremes but fine on road.
I had Pzeros on my 650s and found the handling rather too exciting with a loose and unpredictable rear end. I changed to Corsas just before I sold it and they were much better. If I had changed earlier I might not even have sold it! Now have the new Pzeros (PZ4s) on my 600LT and they seem fine. The PZ4s are PNCS and definitely quieter than trofeo Rs on motorway so depending on what you will use the car for I would recommend PZ4s or Corsas but not the old PZeros.

Do you know what date P zeros changed to PZ4s & are the tyres marked as such ?I'm trying to order two PZ4 now for my Porsche as the fronts are good and I don't mix up makes front and back. However my Pirelli Performace approved tyre fitter can't confirm if you'll get old or new stock/ model. Doesn't seem an unreasonable ask to want the newer tyre from mid 2018...

Has anyone else had experience of using Michelin PS Cup 2's on a 12C for road use? If they rub on a track, have you had any experience of them rubbing when driven in a spirited manner on the road?JamesQ said:

Do you know if the Corsa's you fitted to your 650s were the newer Corsa 2?Project 4 said:

It really depends on the road. if it's a very undulating road that you are driving particularly hard it probably can rub into the liners especially as you will be very unlikely to be in track suspension mode that stiffens up the suspension somewhat and might lessen the tyre liner impact. The 305/30/20 Cup2 is a very very wide tyre compared to the MC stamped Pzero/corsa. If you're going down that route I would probably suggest 5mm rear spacers.
Thanks for all of the replies
I am still not 100% sure if to stick to the safe route, and go with Pirelli Corsa Asimmetrico 2's as they are MC1 rated and I know will fit without any problems...
or go for the superior Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's with spacers. Has anyone had any experience of fitting the Thorney 12mm spaces which they say adjust the track to that of a 675LT? Is it worth spending the additional £495?

To be honest I would stick with the new Corsas and add these spacers, same as Thorney but quarter of the price
