675LT review after 3*570 and a 730s
Discussion
My first post here.
After 3 years of enjoying the 570s (in 3 iterations) and a disaster purchase of a 720s, I watched prices of 675 over 2019 as a remarkable collapse unfolded. Having owned a lively F40 for 5 years (which I had to sell given ludicrous price rise), I have been looking for a car that could be as exciting.
I found a lovely ceramic grey 675 at Mclaren Manchester. It had 9k miles on it, 2 previous owners. I ended up swapping my 570 and putting in some cash. Asking price was 195, I paid substantially less and made sure to have a multi year warranty.
I have now had the car for 3 months, covered around 2k miles in the UK only (so far). Thoughts:
- fault free.
- it feels very grown up compared to the 570, damping is effective but obviously much firmer.
- interior stripped out, kite exhaust and intake noise, more road noise, makes the car feel faster at slower speed. This I like a lot. Makes the whole experience much more tactile.
- car is obviously sharper than 570 and more engaging than 720.
- love the look, love the pipes.
- love the carbon air brake and exterior carbon
I think (hope) this car will be fun to own, great to drive and ultimately money good.
I would buy one over a 720s every day of the week and think it is a bargain sub £200k.
Would love to meet other owners of anything to discuss!

We have had our 675LT Spider since 2016. Its one of my all time favorite cars. Done a few long road trips n it. Always engaging to drive. Bunch of article on it on our site. After 3 years of enjoying the 570s (in 3 iterations) and a disaster purchase of a 720s, I watched prices of 675 over 2019 as a remarkable collapse unfolded. off topic but it's intresting to see that F50's are now much more expensive than F40's
There's a simple expanation..F40s were mass produced compared to F50s..V12 NA Carbon tub compared to a aluminium chassis 8 cyl with primitive on/off Turbos are a contributing factor as well IMO.Edited by Taffy66 on Wednesday 27th November 16:56

Quite right too, in pure collector-car market terms there are loads of F40's compared to the F50 (1,300 compared to 350).
The percentage price difference between the two has actually remained fairly consistent. Back in 2006/2007 when I acquired both an F40 & F50 the former was at GBP 180k and the latter at GBP 330k.SSO said:

I loved my F40, cat adjust ‘91 car. I covered 30k km in it in 5 years. Thought it was the best driving experience ever.
The F50 was better. Amazed to say.
What I really loved was the MC12 and Corsa, I drove a friend’s car at Paul Ricard a few years ago. Mind blowing. Great sound too.
I've heard quite a few people say the f50 was better, the rhd converted f50 would be my car of choice in an ideal world The F50 was better. Amazed to say.

My experience has been the same. My F40 is a 1992 cat adjust car and it now has over 50k km on it. Always great to drive. The F50 was better. Amazed to say.

As a pure drivers car though, the F50 was better. The engine and gearbox just in a different league.
