Pistonheads. The only place you can post something about a McLaren 720 and be told an Audi TT is better.....
Where does it say that? If the drag times and performance mind boggling for a tuned supercar when other people manage with far less exotic cars?

Naaah, if you want to go fast, get a 4x4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HygGflCKZtkWell it is probably about as relevant to my life as a TT that can do that. Drive it for 100k on the Autobahn and then I will be properly impressed ...
but hey am sure most of you guys spend their time at drag strips - a quarter mile at a time and all that
Don’t get why people in the UK are so fussed by these cars - doing more than 140 mph probably lands you in jail, so it is more about how it makes you feel and how it looks / sounds than how it performs anyway I would think

There is still faster Audi TTs out there.
If you want a fast drag car it's best to get a fast drag car..
Any other pointless information you have for us. If you want a fast drag car it's best to get a fast drag car..
I'm not quite sure why a simple observation appears to have caused a few people an issue?

For you then to pipe up that an Audi TT can be made to go faster is not relevant. Nor does anyone care, because an Audi TT is just, well an Audi TT...cut and blow dry anyone? Whereas in comparison the 720S sits in a completely different league, whether it goes faster or not.
That is why, I think, a few people have an ‘issue’.

I think the point here is that someone has taken the already phenomenal 720S and made into an intercontinental ballistic missile. That is all. The OP never made a comparison about it with anything else. It is all about the 720S.

The OP said the performance was mind boggling. All I pointed out was there was "white goods" cars that are faster still. That must surely be even more mind boggling? Clearly people do care as my simple comparison has clearly caused offence. It was supposed so be amusing in the fact that some "white goods" cars are faster than modified supercars.
It is amusing when a "hairdressers car" leaves a supercar for dead at the drag strip. Just like this thread rather than talking about drag racing or times it becomes rather personal.

No one could give a st. A modified “white goods” car shaking itself to pieces as it tries to go quick screams chav. Clearly people do care as my simple comparison has clearly caused offence. It was supposed so be amusing in the fact that some "white goods" cars are faster than modified supercars.

Why you feel the need to tell people on a McLaren forum, that is mind boggling.

If nobody gives a st why are you all getting aggressive and upset? Why you feel the need to tell people on a McLaren forum, that is mind boggling.
Why do you feel the need to make condescending comments?
This is PH. It's not a McLaren forum. It is open for all to post.
I wish I hadn't posted now. I didn't realise this part of the forum was this sensitive.

You can make any car quick but show me another car that'll hit 100mph in under four seconds and be comfortable popping to Waitrose, crossing a continent, be quickest at a trackday and sit, untroubled, in stop start traffic.cheddar said:
