570s spec vs mileage
Discussion
Currently in the market for a 570s, I have seen a few 2016/2017 cars recently but not jumped in yet.
What are people thoughts on spec vs mileage, for example 2 cars I am looking at similar money.
One has 7k miles , interior carbon, nose lift, standard audio. No external carbon however is a lovely car.
The other has 20k miles ,full carbon interior plus full carbon exterior, bowlers Wilkins , nose lift, heated seats etc
But in the current market 20k seems to be the higher end of the mileages of cars available at the moment, what are people’s thoughts on buying/selling are people more interested in spec or miles ?
Anyone looking to get out of one soon feel free to pm me.

A lot will depend on how many miles you intend doing ( you will always do more than you anticipate) and whether you will drive it as intended on track !!. McLaren’s can handle high mileage
The 570S Track Pack with additional Carbon and P1 Carbon seats is the sweet spot

It will be weekends only, and prob not a massive amount in winter, maybe 5k a year.
In the same situation myself would prefer a higher spec car with higher miles than a lower spec car with lower miles, I do max 5k a yr in cars like this so adding 10k miles over two yrs to a 15/20k miles car seems fair enough. Also higher mileage 17 plate cars will still be under warranty vs a lower mileage 16 plate.

Be careful of basing your decision on this!My 650 replaced an Aston and an Alfa Spider - on average, the combined mileage on them was 4.5k a year - and I hardly ever used my Cayenne. Since buying the McLaren in August I'm hitting 1k a month - and I'm having to force myself to use the Cayenne much more than usual to keep it down to that!

I work away from home midweek so won’t have the option to use it anyway mate, limited mileage is forced upon me 😂My 650 replaced an Aston and an Alfa Spider - on average, the combined mileage on them was 4.5k a year - and I hardly ever used my Cayenne. I went for colour and spec over mileage and managed to source a 650 spider in the only colour that i would purchase and it so happened the original owner had ticked almost every box on the extras, missing only a very few exterior carbon bits that i have now sourced and fitted. As it turned out car was in the late 20k miles but only 3 years old; due to age and condition, mileage did not phase me in the slightest.
Car was was obviously cheaper but as its been well used it runs absolutely faultless with no issues or niggles whatsoever.
My theory is that nobody would persevere and run a car like this as a daily to this mileage if it was problematic, so assumed it would be a good 'un.
Paint and condition wise it is mint.
Due to mileage i have the added bonus of no worries about adding more.
A similar car with lesser spec was up for sale at the same time in March with only 3k miles...it has reappeared for sale with the same miles but £30k less price...to me an example of paying a huge premium for low miles is daft.
I get that mileage bothers lots of people but i have never been in that category; and when it comes to selling i know there are others out there with the same thoughts, although due to colour, spec, condition and a brief chat yesterday, that McLaren Glasgow would be interested in it.
Yeah it’s insane paying a massive premium for low mileage car I prefer to see a car that’s been used a bit as you mention...I’ve been in touch with a few dealers on different 570s’ but I can’t believe how slow they are coming back with offers on my car ...I can’t imagine they are that busy at the moment !
Have you tried Rikon London? I've had 2 mates who recently sold through them (one an Aston V12 Vantage) and had a very good experiences - on both cars they had taken in part-ex's against them to do the deal, I think a 991 GTS on one and a Cayman GT4 on the other - might be worth seeing what they would give you for your Aston?
External carbon was a very expensive cosmetic option and whether it has a value to you really only matters to you.
Internal carbon pack is a little different as it gets you the longer, easier to use shift paddles. For me, that's certainly something to have. Nose lift is useful but slow.
Depending on what you are wanting to spend, a car which still has some warranty on it and has been serviced in the dealer network still has the potential for you to extend the warranty. Once the car has dropped out of the network, you will have to get any 'advisories' done before they will cover a car under the warranty. Worth considering.
Overall, they're epic cars and becoming epic value.

I don't think you're the typical yard stick... FYI, not a criticism!

Don't be phased by mileage. I'd rather have a higher mileage than a lower mileage. I think the 'mileage thing' is still hanging about since the Ferrari days when they were unreliable and servicing/warranty costs were ballistic. I’d go for a better spec, with higher mileage.
