Deposit placed on a 720s coupe! I am away for much of August so intending to pick up at the start of September. Very excited!
Will be joining my M5C and Panigale in what I think is the perfect 3 vehicle combo for me.
Is it right that I can’t wait for my family holidays to be over...?
Yup...think you have ticked the boxes there. Will be joining my M5C and Panigale in what I think is the perfect 3 vehicle combo for me.

Not sure if you have been following many of the threads on here, but from my own personal experience of 720S ownership:Will be joining my M5C and Panigale in what I think is the perfect 3 vehicle combo for me.

1) Insist that before you take delivery that all software modules are updated to the latest and greatest. It helps to reduce or remove some of the annoying McGremlins a lot of people raise issue with. Mainly oversensitive sensors setting off spurious fault alarms for faults that aren't there. To test if the car is running on older software, try the 'hot start' function. It was a piece of theatre that has been removed in the latest software due to emission regs. If the car revs high and gives the double shotgun effect, it is still running on older software. Hot Start effect here > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=witGAZDbPCo
2) If you are buying from a McLaren Dealership, get them to send you a video of a 'VEHICLE HEALTH CHECK'. All McLaren dealerships can provide it. A technician will walk around the vehicle with a camera pointing out any issues with the car. They will also lift it on the ramp and show you the condition of the car underneath. Get them to remove the tray from beneath the engine and give an assessment of if there are any fluid leaks - oil and/or water – The underside is as flat as a pancake with most things hidden behind trays – It is unlikely you will not be able to see a leak, without removing trays.
They will stick tape to each tyre and write on it the tread depth, and on each wheel the amount remaining on the brake pads. They will also show rubber gaiters and check suspension joints, all detailed and explained in the video.
There are small aero fins under the car attached to the undertray. Check if they are still in place as sometimes, they can be broken off if the car has been grounded.
The McLaren Technician should take a detailed video of the underneath. They will then post it to a website so you can view the video. I wish I could post one of my videos on here, but it has some personal details on it.
If they are not willing to do a Vehicle Health Check Video, be very wary.
3) Ask them to confirm what the oil level reading is. Ideally, it should be the higher of the green segments as per the below pic. Any lower, ask them to top it up.
TOP TIP: Make sure you check your oil readings regularly. It takes 2 minutes and you can do it sat on your arse in the car without getting your hands dirty.
Some images from my own Vehicle Health Check. If you like, I can PM you the link to the URL?

The health check looks very useful.
At what point do you ask for that - after you've agreed to buy it / the deposit, or when you're still "considering" the car?
I believe the health check is something they do during servicing and warranty work etc. As well as for "health" reasons there will be a commercial reason to upsell tyres and brake pads etc.At what point do you ask for that - after you've agreed to buy it / the deposit, or when you're still "considering" the car?
As part of the pre-handover inspection to new owners I think it makes sense for them to provide a video of the car when they are doing the inspection, and in particular, the underside with some of the trays removed beneath the engine.
