Yep, same issue.
Back to dealer, then a 2.5 month wait!
One of the reasons I had to sell!!!!
Serious question, why could you not use the car whilst they ordered the replacement panels. It's not a safety or service issue so why leave it parked at the dealers for 2.5 months? When I had the same on my Aston Martin Vantage, it didn't stop me enjoying the car.Back to dealer, then a 2.5 month wait!

The car was taken away to have the paint issues resolved. Should take a couple of weeks they said. I then found out that although they had agreed the work needed doing, they needed a McL assessor to agree. So waited for the confirmation before ordering the new parts. This took the time, but they already had my car to do the assessment. I didn't want the car back until sorted, but I must have gone to the bottom of the list.In 2 years of ownership, they had the car for nearly 6 months.
6 new panels due to corrosion, Aircon never really worked, window failed down, parking brake, speakers, shock absorber, windscreen washer bottle etc
By the time they had the car to fix the latest paint issues, I had simply had enough and wanted out.
Sorry, but still bitter!

All my paint issues were due to aluminium corrosion. Bad paint process.
So should not be an issue at all on composite panels.
It's the 'Hand Made' bit that causes the problems. On one of my removed panels, you could clearly see finger tips. The sooner it can be automated, the sooner the paint problem will go away.

Do the paint issues just relate to the 540/570 series aluminium panels, as opposed to composite panels in 650/720?
I have had some paint issues on the passenger door of my 650S, which has composite doors. Approximately 15 cms of paint which has cracked and blistered along the bottom inside of the door. MclaesLaren said:
Is there anyone that has the correct color coding? For a respray it seems overexpensive to let McLaren do the paintjobs.
These are manufacturing defects and are covered by McLarens warranty, as far as I'm aware nobody is having to pay for corrosion repairs.McLaren won't release the paint codes to anybody outside their network so if it's accident damage, stone chips, or modifications you have to go through the dealer and pay dealer prices I'm afraid.
