Hi folks
Had a great weekend in the 650S. I travelled up north to see my extended family. Weather was stunning all weekend so lots of roof down !
The car is fully run in now, it sounds great (maybe even a little louder, and more pops/overruns). And 26mpg on the motorway wasn't bad at all !
The amount of attention the car gets is incredible. Seems every few cars on the motorway were giving a thumbs up and smartphones out.
Saturday I spent the day of some great country roads not far from where my folks live. Planned the route a few years ago and always take the same, good fast roads where you can have a lot of fun without needing to speed - just enjoy the torque between corners and the handling. Did some night driving on the same roads as its always a different (and enjoyable) experience.
Saturday I first drive down to Rivington Pike for a walk - parked car up and for a good hour had crowds of inquisitive people admiring the car, asking questions etc.
Afternoon I spent giving various nephews/cousins/family rides in the car. First time my Dad had experienced a proper drive - my previous cars he's never had the chance.
Anyway - what a great weekend. For those in the UK I hope you enjoyed the weather and spider owners got lots of roof down !

Somewhat of a contrast to my day in the 12C.
Selco Builders Merchants followed by Screwfix (plumber asked if it was my R8 outside and half the staff came out to have a look), then onto DIY store to buy a loo seat (retired couple asked if they could take a picture for their grandson because he loves 'those'!) and finally picked up youngest son from the school bus.
In all did about 150 miles just doing errands, but it put a smile on my face and on many of those that saw it
[I know, I live the life, there's no need to tell me!]
