Hi,

Hope everyone is well.

Along similar lines to a previous post asking for a P1 for a photoshoot, I know this is a very long shot smile but I am wondering if anyone would be up for a top quality audio recording of their P1?

I work in videogames, and obviously the P1 is a popular choice in games, so would be great to get hold of some genuine sounds of one of these beasts!

I have seen various videos of the car, and although they hint at some really interesting sounds, most are incar only and none have seemed to capture them yet in their true glory. We would love to get some microphones right inside the engine bay and maybe even onto the electric motors if possible, and the flamethrower at the back too of course, and hear them all close up!

We can of course give the owner a copy of the sounds, so you can hear what everyone else in the street is hearing when you fly past! wink

We have been doing this for years and have recorded tons of cars, so you would end up with a professional crystal clear recording, none of this distorted You Tube stuff!

We would bring all the recording gear, and wouldn’t mark the car in any way of course, we would just need car and its driver and some time, and somewhere to record. We do a lot of recording on dynos, but imagine that P1s and dynos might not be a good mix! smile

I can explain what we would like in more detail if someone would be happy to discuss this. Maybe someone already has an outing in their P1 planned, and we could tag along?

Anyway, would be awesome to hear from anyone who can help.

Many thanks!

Cheers
Tim

Best place to ask is on McLaren Life forum as owners regularly track at Silverstone etc, had you been at brands hatch a couple of weeks ago you could have recorded them on track, I've got a P1 coming next month but I live in Aberdeen so can't imagine that helps you much.

Hi there - cool thanks for the tip, I will give that a try.

And well yeah Aberdeen is a fair distance from me indeed, but never say never! I hope you enjoy the car when it arrives, and maybe I can get back in touch with you if I fancy a trip to Scotland and can combine the two! smile
