Hi guys
I collect my new 650S Spider today, driving it home from central London !
Spec:
Storm grey with stealth finishers
Red harissa full leather interior
650S diamond cut wheels
Carbon fiber interior upgrade
Meridian sound upgrade
Luxury pack
Electric/heated seats
Electric steering column
Soft close doors
Car cover
Security pack
Front/rear parking sensors
Rear parking camera
Vehicle lift
Volumetric alarm
Tracker
I've had the whole car wrapped in suntek PPF, and the side intakes and upper airbrake wrapped in carbon vinyl (at McLarens suggestion). Detailer couldn't get the suntek to go over the carbon wrap - so had a Matt, textured finish, but looks awesome so happy. The wrap is thick enough that it should protect from stone chips anyway, and cheap to replace if it gets damaged.
The red interior I wasn't sure about - but looks stunning (and not as bright as the first photos I had) in the flesh and really adds pop to the otherwise stealthy car.
The detailers who London McLaren use for most of their new cars have done a Stella job on the PPF and carbon wrap.
Photos when I have time after collection, having trouble trying to upload what I have from my iPhone
Cheers
Matt

I guess the carbon look wrap is a lot cheaper than the real thing, interesting that Mclaren themselves promoted it therefore.
Looks very nice, when you said red leather seats I thought "oh no" but you are right, not too bright and nice with the paint.
And the sun is starting to come out

The car I bought is brand new, but stock - meaning it was preconfigured. It's original spec showed carbon air-vents, but when the photos arrived we noticed it didn't have them. So took this off the cost, and McLaren London suggested the carbon wrap route having done it on other new cars for other customers. It does look great.Looks very nice, when you said red leather seats I thought "oh no" but you are right, not too bright and nice with the paint.

Bad news is that 100 yards from the dealership driving home, I had an airbrake fault. After an hour trying to solve it with them we decided it needed to go Ascot for recalibration. It's possible the airbrake was removed during the wrap - hence recalibration needed. Gutted as ruined the "collection day" experience, but if I can get the car back tip top will be happy. It looks great in the flesh.

Yep, I've had the air brake fault a couple of times, it normally sorts its self out, I think it can recalibrate on its own.
BruceC on here has a good story of flying down a long straight on a track day and braking late into the right hander at the end only to have the "Air Brake failure, please contact your dealer" message light up!

Hooray !
Picked up the car today from McLaren Ascot. Airbrake was recalibrated, and they also fixed a small (from factory) imperfection in the roof paint (they used some kind of heat treatment), and re-applied the PPF.
Love the car - enjoying getting to know it. Had the fun experience of folks crowding around it at the petrol station with lots of positive comments - never used to get that in the 458 !
