When I was in the process of looking for my 650 I thought the stealth wheel colour was a certainty but now I have my car I'm not quite as convinced.
The diamond cut finish looks much better in the metal than I expected, what do we think? This

Or this

I think the black calipers work better than the yellow though

Stealth for me too. Nothing wrong with good old silver either, but I'm not a fan of the diamond cut/2tone thing at all: leave that to Kia et al.

Its personal preference I guess. I have stealth superlights on my 12C and I wish they were silver, I detest black / dark wheels with a passion, they just blend with the tyres and if they get scratched, kerbed look dreadful. If you have silver I would stick with them, I have never understood why people change their wheels to grey / black?

Silver for sure, black/stealth wheels just blend in. They tend to look like old 'steelies' missing the hubcaps, especially when dirty.

I reckon the stealth looks nicer, it also goes well with the black coloured side blades or whatever they're called

Diamond cut looks great; yellow calipers an unnecessary distraction from the whole.

On a yellow car black looks good, but looking at the two photos I actually prefer the diamond cut especially with the black calipers.

For my stock storm grey 650S Spider arriving soon, I swapped out the stealth superlights for diamond cut 650S style, as I prefer the look. I've also got black calipers

I think I prefer stealth wheels on Mantis but I don't think I like THOSE wheels in stealth.........

Stealth for me too, although that is a fussy wheel design IMO and not one of the nicer sets that McLaren produce.

Stealth to tie in with the grey in the carbon weave.
Normally I'm not a fan of stealth/black wheels as you lose the detail of the wheel itself in the tyre and wheel arch but in this case with wheel design and mantis colour with carbon details its a better overall combination IMHO and looks more aggressive.

The diamond cut looks ok in isolation but again I'm not a huge fan of those standard diamond cut wheels where the spokes are a little on the thin side and weedy for my personal liking

All grey alcantara inside on my car. No contrast colour, which I rather like too.

My initial thought was stealth to match the carbon accents but it's a pretty restrained car , green paint aside, and the wheel highlights certainly work better than I ever thought they would.

Keep it as it is for a while I think

Pete, that "aside" bit pretty much knocks out the "pretty restrained" part wink

Would just leave the wheels as they are for now but if you ever need to refurb the wheels next time then definitely go stealth and keep the black calipers (maybe silver calipers actually).

Glad you are enjoying the car thumbup

Mine are stealth plus diamond cut with body colour callipers. Grown on me more and more. Not sure if McL do something similar.

Mac diamond cut is grey gloss rather than black or stealth grey
