IMHO YES its worth £50k. Went to buy an 18 month old used 12C spider and ended up upping my budget by 50% and £80k to get a new 650s spider after test driving both back to back.
Only thing to note is Ceramic brakes are standard on 650S and they are simply brilliant but don't know how they would fair if you are doing lots of track days

Standard exhaust is fine. Not sure about the sports exhaust.
Steel brakes are fine, but dont stay out too long.
Which track are you going to?
This. But steels are fine for as long as your concentration is. Eg 5-8 laps of a GP circuit, but, it chews thru pads at a fair rate. Steel brakes are fine, but dont stay out too long.

I really wish I hadn't watched Sutcliff's vid! I fear that's going to cost me £50k! D'oh!
Funnily enough I didn't go to Manchester to buy a 650S, my heart was set on a used 12C spider in Volcano yellow they had but having drove both the used 12C and their 650S demo back to back it was no question in my mind the big difference in the 2 cars. As they say you only live once and yeah it was another £80k at the time but I have NO regrets at all that I did it - the car has been a revelation and by far the best supercar I have ever owned or driven ( and I've had a few and driven pretty much everything out ther today)I only came across the 650S review video AFTER I had bought the car but it certainly backed up my own experience and reassured me I had made the right decision.
More and more people are only just realising how good the 12C is but believe me the 650S is in another league again.

Pagid rs29s on the steels and you are sorted. Cheaper than oem and easily last 2-3x as long 105db never been an issue with sports exhaust.

I did the same thing
Looked at 12C's and blew the budget for a new 650S
