Stupid question time.

Does anybody know exactly what the Winter Mode button does (2013 12C Spider)?

Go out in the wet and floor it, then you'll know!

Is it just a torque reducer though. I've been driving it in all weather but just treat the throttle a little more carefully when its wet.

It also reduced max RPM and will move up the gears earlier.

That's speaking in tongues to me Dave! All I know is it won't let the wheels light up in the wet, just keeps a lid on your exuberance which is just the ticket.

Must admit with the damp and slippery roads lately and corsa tyres its probably a good idea I start using the button TBH.
Have never had a traction issue in normal mode up until now but with 650 bhp going through the back wheels I could imagine it happening quite easily in wet conditions

It's not just a torque reducer
I used it in wet and windy Wales the other week
It changes the throttle pedal map
If you boot it in Winter mode the throttles are VERY slow to react and have a limit that is ~1/3 of normal mode
I suspect there is also more intervention from the traction control as well
Worked well IME even if it does feel like you are driving and under powered 5 series frown
