Great clip, thank you for posting.

Lots of interest and positive comments on my 650S Spider at Goodwood Vee-Power Breakfast Club.

People are beginning to wake up to quite what an awesome car McLaren have produced here.

It's still difficult to believe astonishing fun and amazing comfort can co-exist so well together in a car with so much oomph.

Is it better than a P1? Or 675LT?

They are great cars, no doubt, but the best?

The point here is the level of ride and cabin comfort allied with speed, agility, driveability and - fun. Those who try to compare a 675 or any other track-focused "special" with something like a 650 are trying to compare apples and pomegranates!! It is the on-road capability that really counts in a ROAD car. There is actually little difference in comfort between my Bentley GTC and 650 Spider. There are few cars with the rest of the 650's capabilities one can say that about. Each car is designed as a package. For British roads the 650 is quite simply a superb package, as the clip acknowledges. The fact it is also a stunning piece of British design and engineering is a lovely plus too!

yes I've just done 1300 miles in my spider over the weekend
On the Mway roof up it is a very civilised and comfortable place to be
Drop off on to a B road and flick it to N/T/Aero/Manual and its an absolute hoot!
So glad I went this route rather than a 458 spider

My 650s actually rides better than my GTC Supersports! And I absolutely adore my Bentley as a real superb car.

And Mikey, absolutely agree, it's phenomenal, far nicer to drive than my 16M ever was. Though my favoured settings are N/S/Aero/Manual - probably as I'm not brave enough to use 'Track' on the road.

You NEED to try Track on the power train with the roof down hehe
Just watched the video and I found Chris's comments about road driving absolutely spot on
It is epically quick and capable, much to the annoyance of the Sunday bikers today wink

My normal settings are sport handling ( normal if Mrs in car with me ) and sport powertrain.

I've not really tried the track settings. Whats the noticeable difference

The track power train mode speeds up the changes because of the "inertia push"
It burbles nicely on the over run
It hold gears longer if you have it in Auto
(I some times use Auto with manual override on boring roads)
It doesn't mess with the traction control that is linked to the handling mode

Track powertrain mode it is from now on then and probably still sport for handling.

TBH I thought the burbles and popping in sport are good.

Whats auto ????? Might not be as precise as a computer but I still like to feel I'm changing the gears myself in full manual mode
