Well I pushed the button on a 650S spider today, spec is

Volcano Red
Semi aniline leather with Harissa Red perforations
Harissa Red contract stitching
Carbon Fibre interior upgrade
Diamond cut forged wheels (not super lights)
Polished brake calipers
Security & Protection Pack (lift, parking sensors, rear camera and alarm upgrade)
Luxury Pack (electric seats & steering column, soft close doors and car cover)
Tracker
Mats
Triangle & First Aid
Stealth Badges
Stealth Pack
P Zeros
Ashtray
MY16 build on a 65 plate (though I've got a personal one to go on)
All for the OTR cost of some of the used ones eek
It will be detailed and covered in Paintshield before it hits the tarmac smile

Not a million miles from my spec mikey. I'm currently thrashing mine around the roads of France, you are going to be completed staggered by this car, enjoy!

Congrats ! You won't be disappointed, they are the most accomplished all round supercar that money can buy.
No problem using them daily or taking them to the track. Just awesome and build quality is light years better than some Italian rivals

Not that different from my spec ( which included exterior carbon pack, carbon side intakes, carbon mirrors, and half leather/alcanatara seats and dash )
Now looking to add the carbon fibre MSO rear diffuser

Be prepared for everyone to say what an amazing car and colour ! Most of which have no idea what it is and then assume its a P1 when you say its a McLaren

There you go mikey, there's my spider quietly cooling outside the hotel after another brilliant day. I've had some nice cars but nothing can touch this for fun.

Get yours and get it out on a road trip!

Thanks for the welcome guys
Really looking forward to our regular road trips in the 650 (need to give it a name!)
We usually do ~7k miles a year on various 1-2 week road trips
The cars a VERY special birthday present, never ever expected to get in to one of these smile I thought I was an Aston owner through and through hehe

Johnny - yes I'm very last century, not a smoker but its a no cost option and useful for coins etc
Selon - deal was too good to pass up, brand new to my spec for used or Vanquish money! You know what I'm like for hoons and photos wink
Rambo - Very similar! I tried to keep the CF down to keep the cost down wink I'm wondering what sort of reception it will get, the Astons were a dream in that respect.
br_d -that was my second colour choice, nice to see people putting miles on these

On the couple of test drives it really impressed.
Just got to get used to the slightly odd brake pedal position, apparently intended for left foot braking (which I'm no good at)
I wanted something that is a quantum leap from the Aston and a roadster!
Nothing else out there other than a 650S spider as far as I'm concerned cool

For F*cks sake do you think every thread with the word 'Mclaren' in it is an opportunity for you to talk about yourself and your car? Mate we know you have a 650s, we've heard you talk about it, we've seen the pics.. again and again. It's a small community here, we all know, no need to relentlessly shout about it every thread.

To the OP, congrats on your purchase of what, I'm sure, is a fantastic car. It's going to be a long summer for you, just try not read all of GBR/Derek/Stig/Gary/RamboLambo's posts or you will be bored of the car before you even take delivery.

Thanks Craig
I'm sure I'll spend the summer working all sorts of useful (or useless?) info out!
BTW any one got a copy of the manual on PDF I can get a copy of?

The 650S brake pedal is not as offset as the Performante. TBH with the Lambo you do tend to sit at an angle and its impossible to do anything else but left foot braking

With the 650S I'm currently left foot braking but sometimes get caught in between as my daily driver is the normal right foot braking and both methods are possible

Be interested in what everyone else does but I still think left foot is the way to go rather than keep lifting/moving the right

Practice makes perfect, left foot braking is the way to go, once you get used to it you will love it.

Go to a test track, Elvington or similar, start slow, work your way into it, trust me, the car rewards left foot braking.

And congratulations, brilliant colour, even though I say so myself wink

Nice. Just one thing, though: when purchasing a McLaren you pull the trigger, you do not push the button smile
