Couldn't lock the car yesterday, no matter what I did it just beeped at me and refused to lock.
Tried moving it, opening and closing the doors, boot lid and engine cover and pushing every button I could find.
Rang Mclaren who put me through to Ben the tech guy. It was the little storage box between the seats, hadn't pressed it shut properly.
Simon told me specifically to watch out for this when I picked it up!
Idiot.

So - other than this little niggle - how are you finding it?
Don't ask him about the stitching.

Well Anjum it's epic really, I am just starting to apply the pedal a little and the power is pretty serious. It feels considerably quicker that anything I've owned before so I'm going to have to take some time to adjust. It gets too much attention though. I'm used to it up to a point with my previous cars but this is another level (I suppose the bright orange doesn't help!), just about everywhere I pull up I will find myself answering lots of questions. Don't misunderstand me I'm happy to do it, I'm not a miserable sod, but it does happen all the time everywhere I go and does actually get in the way of getting things done!
Most common questions so far:
Is it an F1?
Is it a P1?
This car costs about a million pounds doesn't it mate?
I thought it had the seat in the middle?
And of course
How fast does it go?
Learned a couple of new things today. The windscreen washer is inside the wiper blade, who knew?
And don't use the windscreen washers while you're doing 60 with the drivers window open, unless you want a half pint of dirty detergent splashed all over your swanky Alcantara interior!

You could hear the engine as the rear wheels were spinning up. Unfortunately too much right pedal and a wet road do not good bedfellows make with lot's of power.Gassing Station | McLaren | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
