McLaren seems to be over protective with their paint codes...
Would anyone know the code, or where to find the code for the colour of the super-lightweight wheels in stealth finish ?
As per the picture below.

Hi mate, if you take the wheels to somewhere like Lepsoms they should be able to match.
Will ask my painter pal if there is such a thing as paint code for the wheels.

Have asked and we don't think there is a code, seems they are either replaced or farmed out to a wheel specialist.

In the end, my dealer provided me with a touch-up bottle at my last service.
They would not give any paint code.....
It is usefull to keep the lightweight wheels perfect as they are very fragile.

Having spoken to a few people I've found out that the wheels are made by Rimspeed in Birmingham, who'll refurb them for you on an exchange basis for £220 + VAT each 'direct' or going via McLaren Birmingham only £200 + VAT each.

A number of well respected wheel refurbishment companies have all said that whilst they can't get the official paint code they can match it so you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

A company that i've used previously [in Crawley, West Sussex http://www.wheelworksuk.co.uk/index.php] tell me they've done a number of McLarens and can do any model except the P1 as it has special wheels that cannot be done(?).

As the cost is only £65 + vat per wheel and i'm getting all 4 done, i think i'll go down this route.
(NB. Alloys are in perfect condition, just not my preferred Stealth Black)

Lepsons charged me £400 to paint mine but that was special colour not satin black.
Looking at the quality of there work I wouldn't go anywhere else with the macca wheels.
I got a set done on an old Porsche which were ok to be fair for £180 just up the road but wouldn't take Macca wheels there.
P1 are magnesium so they can't weld

Just collected my re-painted wheels from Wheel Works in Crawley, they look great.

They told me they do work directly for McLaren and have repainted a number of sets of brand new P1 wheels for when owners have spec'd a special colour from new....(?)
