No idea how the accident happened so not in a position to comment on this driver specifically, but it does seem as if a disproportionate number of mid-engined performance cars end up in single-car street accidents. I think part of it is getting out with a very powerful car and forgetting that grip on cold tires is not too good, and the old ' let's see what this thing can do", invitation to disaster.
I recall driving a CGT very hard, and how much you had to respect the car, which was much better than its tires at the time. It was also seriously better once the tires came in.

not relevant to the p1 specifically but you make a really valid point here.... lambos are 4wd, but they are still undriveable in the wet at pace as the tyres are simply not good enough, 4wd or not...According to WreckedExotics the driver was 27, his passenger was 24, the car had been purchased just 24 hours before, the road was extremely wet...
And we all know the rest.
I'm guessing he hit the loud pedal, hit a wet patch, lost the car & stuffed it into the barrier.
An expensive day out!
Important thing is that both driver & passenger appeared to have escaped with just bruises.
